Segway Fungicide
Segway Fungicide is a liquid fungicide that can control harmful turf diseases such as pythium blight and other pythium-based ailments. It is ideal for both commercial and residential turfgrass.
Segway Fungicide, manufactured by FMC Professional Solutions, is a go-to chemical for the treatment of Pythium Blight and Downy Mildew Diseases in the turf on residences, golf courses, and sod farms. Segway can provide protection that can last from 7 to 28 days.
Segway's active ingredient, Cyazofamid, stops and affects all stages of Pythium development, including spore germination, which is key to its growth and development. Pythium has shown considerable resistance to most fungicides on the market, which is why this product is recommended. It works as both a curative and preventative measure against Pythium with no signs of resistance.
Tools Needed
You will need a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. We recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a hose-end sprayer for small household jobs.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mow your lawn before application, and then determine how much Segway Fungicide you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Segway should be mixed at a rate of 0.45 to 0.9 fl. oz. in 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For ornamental applications, Segway should be mixed at a rate between 1.5 to 6.0 fl. oz. per 100 gallons per acre, depending on what disease you are trying to treat.
- Step 2: Mix Segway Fungicide into a sprayer of your choice. Fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, and then add the properly measured rate of Segway based on your calculations. Agitate the mixture well, and then you will be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Spray the fungicide evenly onto the plant's leaf, placing the sprayer on a fan spray setting for uniform coverage. For ornamental applications, spray on a 14 to 28-day interval using another registered fungicide with a different mode of action than Segway. Apply sufficient product to wet the foliage to the point of runoff.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the disease and its severity, or for continued protection and fungus prevention.
Where to Use
Segway Fungicide is labeled to be used in turfgrasses associated with golf courses (greens, tees, and fairways), sod farms, seed farms, college and professional sports fields, cemeteries, residential and commercial lawns, ornamental plants in landscapes, and those grown in commercial greenhouses and nurseries.

Use this product upon first seeing a fungus or disease on your plants or as a preventative measure against disease during the growing season.
