Segway Fungicide
Segway Fungicide
Segway Fungicide is manufactured by FMC Professional Solutions and is a go-to chemical for the treatment of Pythium Blight and Downy Mildew Diseases in turf on residences, golf courses and sod farms. Segway can provide protection which can last 7 to 28 days.
Segway's active ingredient, Cyazofamid, works by stopping and affecting all stages of Pythium development, including spore germination, which is key to its growth and development. Pythium has shown a lot of resistance to most fungicides in the market, which is why this product is recommended because it works as both a curative and preventative measure against Pythium with no signs of resistance.
Tools Needed
To use Segway Fungicide you will need either a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For small household jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a hose-end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mow your lawn prior to application then determine how much Segway Fungicide you will need by calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, measure and multiply the area length times the width (length x width = square footage). Segway should be mixed at a rate of 0.45 to 0.9 fl. oz. in 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For ornamental applications, Segway should be mixed at a rate between 1.5 to 6.0 fl. oz. per 100 gallons per acre depending on what disease you are trying to treat.
- Step 2: Mix Segway Fungicide into a sprayer of your choice. Fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water and then add in the proper measured rate of Segway based on your calculations. Agitate the mixture well then you will be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Spray the fungicide evenly onto the leaf of the plant, placing the sprayer on a fan spray setting for uniform coverage. For ornamental applications, spray on a 14 to 28 day interval using another registered fungicide with a different mode of action than Segway. Apply sufficient product to wet the foliage to the point of runoff.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed every 2 to 3 weeks depending on the disease and it's severity or for continued protection and fungus prevention.
Where to Use
Segway Fungicide is labeled to be used in turfgrasses associated with golf courses (greens, tees, and fairways), sod farms, seed farms, college and professional sports fields, cemeteries, residential and commercial lawns, ornamental plants in landscapes and those grown in commercial greenhouses and nurseries.
When to Use
Use Segway Fungicide upon first seeing a fungus or disease on your plants or as a preventative measure against disease during the growing season.
