Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr
Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr is an insecticide concentrate with a powerful, non-repellent active ingredient that insects cannot detect. It is odorless, has a long-lasting residual, and is excellent for controlling ants, termites, cockroaches, and many other insects.
10/05/25
Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr, manufactured by BASF, is an easy-to-use termiticide and non-repellent insecticide that kills termites and other general pests like cockroaches in and around residential, commercial, warehouse, or other establishments.
Unlike other suspended concentrate insecticides, Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr is intended for precise spot treatments both indoors and outdoors. This unique feature makes this product the only known non-repellent insecticide that can be used with baits and other integrated pest management products.
Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr is proven effective against various ant species and has a low odor, making it ideal for food/feed areas of food-handling establishments. The secret behind this product's success lies in its active ingredient, chlorfenapyr, which is undetectable to insects. Pests can't smell, taste, or, most importantly, avoid it. As a result, they unknowingly contact and ingest it as they go about their routine activities.
Tools Needed
This product should be mixed in a handheld pump or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Phantom can either be mixed at a 0.125% (0.75 fl. oz.) dilution concentration or 0.25% (1.25 fl. oz.) dilution concentration in a gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft for termite control. For general pest control, Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr should be applied at a 0.50% dilution (3 fl. oz.) in a gallon to cover 1,000 sq. ft. For example, if you measured 5,000 sq. ft. of area for general pest control, you would need to mix 15 fl. oz. in 5 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill a sprayer tank halfway with water and add the appropriate amount of product based on your calculations. Add the remainder of the water, close the sprayer, and agitate until well mixed, and you will be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Apply the Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr mixture with a low-pressure directed spray or use a pin tip nozzle for crack and crevice applications. For barrier treatments, apply a band 10 feet wide around the perimeter and up to 3 feet high on a foundation. Use all around structures and in cracks and crevices where bugs may harbor. Repeat applications as needed every 28 days for continued control.
Where to Use
Phantom Insecticide Chlorfenapyr can be used as a crack and crevice spot treatment in garages, homes, nursing homes, food handling establishments, and many other areas. Indoors, it would be best to focus treatment around cracks and crevices, cabinets, and baseboards.
When to Use
Make applications when you are experiencing an insect infestation and want a professional product that is proven to keep pests away. Prime times for pest infestations are in the warmer months between Spring and Fall.
