Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food Flower & Vegetable, manufactured by Scotts Mircale-Gro, is a perfectly balanced homogeneous fertilizer that feeds perennial ornamentals and vegetables for up to 4 months.
This slow-release 14-14-14 npk formula provides stronger root development as well as increased above-ground growth of vegetables and flowers for long periods of time. It promotes ongoing feeding when the resin on each granule is activated by the soil temperatures, which also informs the nutrients in the granules how to move throughout the plant. Fear of over-application is safely eliminated, as rates above three times the limit would still not be enough to burn treated foliage.

How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food Flower & Vegetable to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To treat tomatoes and peppers, use 1 1/2 capful of Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food Flower & Vegetable per 4 sq. ft. For carrots, onions, and beans, apply 1 capful of product per 10 sq. ft. of garden row. For bedding transplants, use 1 tsp of product per 4 inch plant. For bulbs, apply 1/2 tsp. of product per bulb.
- Step 2: While wearing gloves, fill the cap or a measuring spoon with the proper amount of Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food Flower & Vegetable. You may also stand over the treatment area and pour the material directly from the product container.
- Step 3: Spread the proper amount of Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food Flower & Vegetable onto the soil and mix it into the top 1-3 inches of soil. After mixing is complete, lightly water the treated soil and continue watering regularly. Reapply this product every 4 months.
