Sendero Herbicide
Sendero Herbicide is a effective post-emergence herbicide that gives consistent mesquite and brush control in rangelands and pastures.
09/21/25
Sendero Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is an excellent emulsifiable concentrate herbicide that provides a superior grass production and improved wildlife habitat.
Contains two active ingredients, which work together to target and eliminate stubborn weeds within 14 days of application.
Sendero Herbicide gives ranchers a 10 percent improved brush control than other modern herbicides on the market, specifically the Remedy Ultra and Reclaim Herbicides. While this product does offer effective and consitent control of mesquite, it causes little to no injury on desirable trees and shrubs resulting in valuable shade for livestock and nesting/cover for local wildlife.
Tools Needed
It can be applied with a backpack sprayer or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Sendero Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). General applications will use 0.63 fl. oz. of Sendero Herbicide per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Sendero Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and agitate until mixed.
- Step 3: Ensure even coverage of Sendero Herbicide.
Where to Use
Sendero Herbicide can be used for conservation Reserve Program (CRP), rangeland and permanent grass pastures (including grasses grown for hay*); non-irrigation ditch banks, and natural areas (open space) including, campgrounds, parks, prairie management, trails and trailheads, recreation areas, wildlife openings and wildlife habitat and management areas; including grazed areas on all of these listed sites.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are present and soil temperatures are 75 degrees Fahrenheit at a depth of 12 to 18 inches.
Safety Information
Sendero Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas for 2 days after application.
Special Considerations
Not for use on pastures in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. All other labeled uses are permitted in these states including grazed areas in and around these sites.
