RoundUp Pro Concentrate, manufactured by Monsanto, provides broad-spectrum control that can successfully eliminate many annual and perennial weeds, woody brush, and trees.

This water-soluble liquid acts as a systemic herbicide with no residual soil activity. It travels from the foliage to the plant's root system, permanently eliminating the foliage.

RoundUp Pro Concentrate quickly works as a non-selective, post-emergent weed killer on common perennial weeds and grasses. With this higher-concentrated version of its active ingredient, RoundUp, you will use less product per gallon of water. RoundUp Pro weed killer combines a higher concentration of glyphosate with performance technology for broad-spectrum control of weed and brush with rain-fast permanence within one hour.

Tools Needed

You will need either a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or skid sprayer. Aerial spray equipment can even be used by professionals looking to treat large croplands and other areas.

How to Use

person spraying weed control solution

  • Step 1: Determine how much RoundUp ProConcentrate to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, divide the square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). The rates will vary depending on the application site, target weed, and equipment used, so it would be best to refer to the product label for proper mix rates. For general backpack or handheld spraying equipment applications, apply 1.6 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Except as otherwise specified, the combined total of all treatments must not exceed 8 pounds of glyphosate per acre per year.
  • Step 2: Once you've determined the amount of RoundUp Pro, you must mix the product. Pour all required water into the spray tank, then add the appropriate amount of product. Mix well to create an even solution.
  • Step 3: Now that your solution is ready, apply it to the desired area. When applying RoundUp Pro, ensure spray coverage is uniform and covers at least 50% of the target plant's foliage. For the best results, coat the top half of the plant's foliage.

Where to Use

RoundUp Pro can be used in non-crop areas such as airports, apartment complexes, commercial sites, ditch banks, driveways, dry ditches, canals, fencerows, golf courses, greenhouses, industrial sites, landscape areas, lumberyards, manufacturing sites, municipal sites, natural areas, office complexes, ornamentals, parks, parking areas, pastures, petroleum tank farms and plumbing installations, railroads, rangeland, recreation areas, residential areas, rights-of-ways, roadsides, schools, shadehouses, sports complexes, storage areas, substations, turfgrass areas, utility sites, warehouse areas and wildlife management areas.

This systemic herbicide may also be used in non-food crop sites such as Christmas tree farms, plant nurseries, and grass or turf seed farms. It may also prepare conservation reserve program land for crop production.

Avoid contact with this product with foliage, stems, exposed non-woody roots, or fruit of crops such as vines, desirable plants, and trees because severe injury or destruction to the vegetation may result.

When to Use

Apply Roundup Pro Concentrate when plants are actively growing. Efficacy will be reduced if the plants are recently mowed, as the surface area and the plant's ability to absorb the chemicals through its vascular system will be reduced.

Safety Information

RoundUp Pro is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this water-soluble liquid.

Keep people and pets off-treated areas until the spray solution has dried.

Special Considerations

Visible effects on most annual weeds occur within 2 to 4 days but may not occur on perennial weeds for 7 days or more. Read the product label before applying, as it has specific instructions regarding the type of application equipment needed for the specific areas being treated.
