Grazon P+D Herbicide
Grazon P+D Herbicide is a professional post-emergent herbicide that eliminates a broad spectrum of tough annual and perennial broadleaf weeds from rangelands and permanent grass pastures.
This product is a Restricted Use Product and you are required to have a Certified Applicator's License to purchase this product.
Grazon P+D Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a superior post-emergent herbicide that eliminates and prevents a wide range of broadleaf weeds in CRP and pastures to increase the quality of grass and more graze-ability for cattle.
It is formulated with the active ingredients picloram 10.2% and 2,4-D 39.6%, which eliminates weeds like sowthistle from their leaves to their roots as a systemic formulation for complete control.
Grazon P+D Herbicide is a high-quality suspended concentrate herbicide for the control of dense weeds and brush in one broadcast or aerial application, helping to lessen labor and product use.
Tools Needed
To apply Grazon P+D Herbicide, you will need a backpack sprayer, spray rig, or aerial application equipment.
This product cannot be mixed with dry fertilizer.
Do not apply this product through any irrigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Grazon P+D Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, divide the square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Apply 2 to 4 pints of Grazon P+D Herbicide in 10 to 40 gallons of water per acre of rangelands and permanent grass pastures. To control woody plant species or brush species in rangelands and pastures, use 8 pints of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions, which may vary based on your state.
- Step 2: To mix, fill the spray tank with half the amount of water and add a measured amount of Grazon P+D Herbicide. Fill the tank the rest of the way with the remaining half of the water and shake until the product has mixed with the water.
- Step 3: Make one pass of a broadcast application of Grazon P+D Herbicide mixture until the top and bottom of weed leaves are wet but not to the point of runoff. Depending on the weed and application site, another retreatment may be necessary.
Where to Use
Grazon P+D Herbicide may be used on listed broadleaf annual and perennial weeds and certain woody plants and vines on CRP, rangeland, and permanent grass pastures.
This product should not be applied in residential or commercial areas or near ornamental trees and shrubs.
When to Use
Use Grazon P+D Herbicide in the spring, early summer, and fall when weeds are less than 4 inches tall, and rainfall is not expected within 24 hours of application.
Established grasses are tolerant to this product, but newly seeded grasses may be injured until well established, as indicated by tillering, developing a secondary root system, and vigorous growth (see Planting Grasses Section).
Safety Information
Grazon P+D Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
There are no grazing restrictions for non-lactating dairy animals or other livestock including horses, sheep, goats, and other animals in the treatment area. Do not allow lactating dairy animals to graze treated areas within 7 days after application.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until the spray has dried. Treated areas should not be grazed until toxic plants have dried up.
Special Considerations
Do not transfer livestock from treated Grazon P+D Herbicide grazing areas to broadleaf crop areas without first allowing 7 days of grazing on untreated grass pasture. Otherwise, urine may contain enough picloram to cause injury to sensitive broadleaf plants.
