Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent
Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent is a chemical frightening agent designed to remove birds from a given location. When ingested, the active ingredient causes a nervous reaction, signaling birds to stay away. It is treated whole corn that removes a pigeon flock from unwanted areas.
Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent is a restricted use pesticide and must have a certified applicator license to be able to purchase.
Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent, manufactured by Avitrol Corporation, is a treated grain bait designed to ward off various bird species. It is made with whole corn kernels treated with an agent that causes a reaction in birds when eaten, similar to an epileptic seizure.
Birds that eat this product will be affected and act in a way that alerts the other birds to leave the area. This may include erratic flying, loud chirping, trembling, pupil dilation, and other symptoms indicating a loss of nervous system control.
Licensed professionals use Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent, a great product to keep birds out of crops, manufacturing plants, and residential areas.
Tools Needed
We recommend setting food trays in areas where only targeted birds can reach the whole corn mixture. A ladder may also be needed to reach targeted areas.
Before using Avitrol, you will need to pre-bait with untreated grains.
How to Use
- Step 1: Pre-bait sites with regular whole corn kernels to earn birds' trust, determine where to place the treated corn kernels, and apply them in sufficient quantity. We recommend using bait boxes and putting them in areas where non-targeted animals cannot access the bait.
- Step 2: You can use the Avitrol bird calculator app to help determine the mixture of regular corn and treated corn needed to deter birds in that area. For general applications, use a dilution ratio of 1 part Avitrol to 5 parts untreated grain.
- Step 3: Although the goal is to deter birds without incident, they sometimes eat a lethal dose. If this occurs, dispose of any deceased birds and leftover food immediately. Continue to fill bait boxes until the flock stops returning.
Where to Use
Avitrol Whole Corn Bird Repellent can be used on rooftops of businesses and homes, around crops, manufacturing plants, and other areas where bird flocks destroy property with nests or waste. Before placing treated corn, it is recommended to place pre-bait boxes to determine what areas the flock visits the most. This will help prevent the treated corn from being eaten by non-targeted animals.
Do not apply to growing food crops and where livestock and poultry may be exposed.
When to Use
This product can be used when American, Northern, and Fish Crows infest your area. When to use Avitrol depends on the sensitivity of the area needing treatment. If numerous people or non-targeted animals frequently visit the site, that area is considered sensitive.
It is suggested that Avitrol be placed when people are not visiting the area, and other animals are not out. If treating the rooftop of a business, it is best to wait until it is closed or after rush hour to bait with Avitrol.
This product should only be used after pre-baiting has been implemented long enough to learn when most of the flocks visit the area.
