Roundup QuikPRO Herbicide, manufactured by Monsanto, is a glyphosate and diquat blend formed into a powder to control tough weeds quickly. It provides non-selective systemic post-emergent control of most annual and perennial weeds. Roundup QuikPro comes in the form of water-soluble granules which contain a surfactant, so no additional surfactant is needed.

This product doesn't have soil activity, so it does not prevent weeds and plants from growing. However, after coming in contact with the foliage, it will kill the entire plant, from the leaves to the roots. When the solution is sprayed onto the targeted vegetation, the plants die within 1 to 2 days.

Roundup QuikPRO Herbicide is easily applied with a pump sprayer to quickly kill any unwanted vegetation growing in areas on industrial and non-cropland sites.

Tools Needed

A pump sprayer is needed to apply it. For quick jobs, we recommend using the Solutions 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer. For larger jobs, try a 2.5 to 5 gallon backpack sprayer for easy carrying and less refilling.

How to Use

Spraying Roundup Quikpro on Fenceline

  • Step 1: Determine how much RoundUp QuikPRO you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). RoundUp QuikPRO has different rates depending on whether you are treating. Annual weeds application rate is 1.2 oz. of RoundUp QuikPRO in a gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Perennial weeds apply 1.5 oz. of product in a gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Brush apply at 1.5 oz. of product in a gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. or use a low-volume directed spray of 4.0 oz. to 8.0 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.  For example, if you have a 2,000 sq. ft. yard to treat for annual weeds, you will need to mix 2.4 fl. oz. of product in 2 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Based on your calculations, once you know the desired amount of product you need to mix, add the measured amount of RoundUp QuikPro to a clean, empty sprayer. Next, add the appropriate amount of water and stir or agitate the sprayer until the product is well mixed.
  • Step 3: Apply to areas where unwanted vegetation grows, preferably on a fan spray setting, to ensure even coverage. Spray the foliage until it is thoroughly wet, but not to the point of dripping or runoff.

Where to Use

Applying RoundUp QuikPro to railroad

Roundup QuikPRO can be used for weed control, trim-and-edge, and bare ground applications in non-cropland and industrial sites, such as airports, apartment complexes, commercial sites, Conservation Reserve Program, ditch banks, driveways, dry ditches, dry canals, fencerows, golf courses, landscape areas, lumberyards, manufacturing sites, municipal sites, natural areas, office complexes, ornamental landscapes, parks, parking areas, recreational areas, residential areas, rights of way, roadsides, schools, sports complexes, storage areas, warehouse areas, and wildlife management areas.

When to Use

Roundup QuikPRO is most effective when applied to plants growing above the ground. For more effective results, apply on warm sunny days. Apply when rain is not in the immediate forecast and on calm days when wind speeds are low to avoid accidental spray drift.

Safety Information

It is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Keep people and pets off the treated area until the spray solution has dried.

Special Considerations

Each 8 ounce box comes with five 1.5 ounce packets. Marking dyes can be mixed with Roundup QuikPRO, but this can make the herbicide less effective. Always read the product label before making applications.

Expert Reply:
Hard water with foreign materials can react badly with Roundup. Be sure to check your filters before and after each pesticide use to ensure no foreign materials are being trapped.
