Blindside Herbicide Post Emergent
Blindside Herbicide Post Emergent
Blindside Herbicide is a post-emergent herbicide that controls over 70 broadleaf weeds and sedges on warm-season turfgrass. Its dual-action formula (Metsulfuron and Sulfentrazone) works through foliar and root uptake to deliver faster control.
Blindside Herbicide Post Emergent, manufactured by FMC Professional Solutions, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that does an excellent job controlling up to 70 different broadleaf weeds and sedges on cool and warm-season turfgrasses.
This product contains the active ingredients Sulfentrazone 60% and Metsulfuron 6%, which combine into a dual-action formula that penetrates plant tissue and goes down to the root to kill an invasive weed completely. It is fast-acting, with results showing in as quickly as a week.
Tools Needed
You will need a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. We recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer for small lawn jobs or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Blindside Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Blindside Herbicide should be used at a rate of .075 to 0.15 per 1,000 sq. ft. for cool-season grasses and 0.15 to 0.23 per 1,000 sq. ft. for warm-season grasses. For more specific application rates, refer to the label.
- Step 2: Fill your selected spray tank halfway with water and then add the appropriate amount of Blindside Herbicide. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water and shake well, and you will be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Spray target weeds until wet, but avoid spray solution runoff and over-application. An excellent technique to put into practice is to prevent side-to-side movement of the nozzle when spraying, as it is best to spray the nozzle directly with no movement close to the weeds or moss to ensure proper application.
Where to Use
Blindside Herbicide can be used in and around commercial and residential turf, including golf courses, lawns, sports fields, cemeteries, parks, campgrounds, recreational areas, roadsides, school grounds, and sod farms.
When to Use
This product should be used when unwanted weeds grow on the property, such as dollar weed, buttonweed, dove weed, dandelion, nutsedge, crabgrass, and more. Prime time for application is in the early spring season.
Safety Information
Blindside WDG Herbicide is safe to apply around pets and children when used according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Depending on the treatment area, Blindside Herbicide WDG can be used with a surfactant if needed.
Some turf types may temporarily discolor due to the use of surfactants or adjuvants with Blindside Herbicide. High temperatures and high relative humidity may increase the risk of temporary discoloration.

Q:Why do you recommend Blindside for Doveweed over Celsius? I tried both. Celsuis took about 10 days to work but it completely destroyed the Doveweed. No repeat applications needed. Blindside took 3 aplications and the Doveweed came back. For one gallon spot spraying, I mixed one teaspoon of Celsius and a teaspoon and a half of Dismiss. Killed every weed I had with no damage to my Bermuda. Doveweed will destroy a lawn fast. You really need that Dicambia for a complete kill. From my experience anyway.6/30/22
