Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide is a powerful, water-based pyrethrin insecticide with a quick knockdown and a broad label. Its versatile formula can be used in handheld sprayers, ULV foggers, and automatic misting systems to treat mosquitoes and flying insect pests.
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide, manufactured by MGK, is a water-based insecticide concentrate that uses a powerful combination of pyrethrins and PBO to control many insects.
Pyrethrins are natural insecticides derived from the chrysanthemum plant and work by attacking the insect's central nervous system. Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide has a quick knockdown (within 1 hour after fogging), is labeled for use in many different areas, and is even for use on certain animals.
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide can efficiently control many pests, such as flying insects, cockroaches, and pantry pests. If you are looking for an insecticide that quickly kills pests and is low-toxicity, Riptide is a solid option.
Tools Needed:
This product can be applied using many different applicators. For small-volume applications, you can use a hand pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a hose-end sprayer. You can use a spray rig, a ULV Fogger, or an automatic misting system for large-volume applications.
How to Use:
- Step 1: Identify which pests you intend to control and what areas they harbor in and traverse through. You should then calculate the square footage or cubic footage of the area to be treated to determine how much Riptide you will need. To find square footage, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet and multiply them together (length x width = square footage). For cubic feet, measure and multiply the length, width, and height together (length x width x height = cubic feet). For indoor surface applications, use Riptid at a rate of 3 fl. oz. per gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. If using a ULV fogger, 1 to 2 fl. oz. of diluted product can treat 1,000 cubic feet. For misting systems, the rate suggested is 1.16 fl. oz. of concentrate per gallon of water or a 1/2 gallon per 55-gallon drum.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water. Measure the appropriate amount of product and add it to the sprayer. Fill the sprayer with the remaining amount of water, screw on the lid, and thoroughly agitate your sprayer and you're ready to apply.
- Step 3: Apply the product in the areas with pest activity. Spray in cracks and crevices, along the trails the pests frequent, and directly on any pests you see. Refer to the label for specific instructions regarding your desired treatment areas.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed, following label instructions regarding your application type and pest type, as this can vary the rate of repeat application.
Where to Use:
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide can be used in a wide variety of different locations, such as in homes, around foundations of structures, in cracks and crevices, and even applied to certain animals and livestock to kill insects on them. Indoors, they can be used around Animal Shelters, Bathrooms, Beverage Plants, Buildings, Canneries, Cattle Barns, Crawl Spaces, Dairy Barns, Diners, Factories, Garages, Grocery Stores, Horse Stables, Hospitals, Hotels, Kennels, Nursing Homes, Office Buildings, Poultry Houses, Restaurants, Schools, Warehouses, Zoos. Outdoors, they can be used on Athletic Fields, Lawns, Campgrounds, Fair Grounds, Gazebos, Golf Courses, Kennels, Parks, Patios, Playgrounds, Ranges, Rest Areas, Tennis Courts, Truck Stops, Zoos.
When to Use:
Apply during the first signs of pest activity or an active infestation. The sooner you begin treatment, the less time the pests will have to reproduce and the harder they will be to control.
Safety Information:
Riptide Pyrethrum Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep all pets and people (unless the animal is being treated) out of the area until the product has completely dried.
Do not apply this product to water or where it can be carried away in runoff before it has dried.
Special Considerations:
When applying indoors, cover any foodstuffs, aquariums, or birdcages. Riptide Pyrethrin Insecticide has a wide-use label, but it is still essential to read the instructions regarding your application site before applying to ensure proper treatment.
