For rats: Apply 2 to 8 blocks (4 to 16oz) of Peanut Butter Bait per placement. Rait baiting placement varies by location. Generally placements are 15 to 20 feet apart as rats will travel quite some distance in search of food. You must maintain a constant supply of bait for 10 days for best results.

For Mice: Break Eaton Peanut Butter Blocs into 3 pieces and place 1 to 2 small blocks at 10 foot intervals around the infested area. You must maintain a constant supply of bait for at least 15 days for best results. Replace consumed or spoiled bait immediately to keep a constant supply.

To prevent re-infestation you must limit alternate food sources and seal entry points.

Coverage Area

JT Eaton Peanut Butter Bait Blocks will treat between 250 and 500 linear feet depending on infestation and rodent type. It is best to identify the infestation source and concentrate placements near entry ways to the rodent's nest. Remember to maintain a constant supply of bait for 10 to 15 days depending on rodent.

Time to Kill

BEST ANSWER: The Peanut butter Rat Mouse Bait Blocks is not labeled for the use of eliminating chipmunks.
Will it kill chipmunks (I hope!)?
DEBORAH Z on Jun 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Jt Eaton Peanut butter bait is not labeled to control chipmunks, it will however kill anything that ingest the bait.
do you smell the rats after they die?
A shopper on Mar 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Rats will live inside, but feed and forage on the outside, so you do have a chance that the rodents die outside. But there are scent products that will help eliminate the smell if it does occur.

Is Eaton peanut butter rat bait attractive to squirrels?
NB on Jul 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is attractive to squirrel if they get access. I have my bait in bait boxes, plastic and steel. If the squirrel gets hungry enough it chews the opening to get to the bait. I been using Eaton peanut butter for 6-8 years and only found 1 dead squirrel.
Can you get rid of chipmunks with this product?
Joe R on Aug 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can but it would be better to use a more focused product for chipmunks like Nature's Defense: All-Purpose Animal Repellent. Check it out here.

Dies it kill opossum?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We don't have opossum in the Arizona desert but have many other creatures. I have had birds die from it but that is about it. Of course I use it in black box rat stations.
Can I just throw the blocks in the attic on different corner locations where I hear them most active with out a trap? I am quit the sissy to go up there myself.
A shopper on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can go ahead and try that but if they do eat the bait, you may have to deal with them dying somewhere in the attic or some hard to reach place and they will start to decompose and let off a terrible odor. It's best to lay out traps. Don't worry, they are more scared of you than you are of them and likely will be in hiding when you place the bait.
why does it state on the container that the person placing the bait must change clothing afterwards and wash clothes separately from other clothes?
Cardine on Oct 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You just want to make sure you do not expose anyone to the rodenticide, you will want to wear gloves when placing the bait in bait stations.
How much does it take to kill a relative big rat? They won’t touch the whole block for a week. So I smashed one and blend it together with other waste food which they ate, but now I’m not sure if it’s enough to kill them.
A shopper on Oct 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 1 Block of JT Eaton Rodent Bait is enough to kill multiple rats. Have you continued to offer them a food source of bait, it will take multiple feedings to kill the rat. It can take a while for rodents to be comfortable about the bait and bait stations. Please check out our rodent control guides for proper location and recommendations for success.

Rats love it!
I live next to multiple acreage and the rodents (rats) seem to want to hang around our back yard. I break the blocks into small pieces and place in bait stations around the yard. The rodents travel into the stations and munch the goodies only to die a few days later. Love this product and the size of pail.

New product form factor no longer as effective.
The previously available double-wide bait blocks must have been using a more effective formula. The single-wide bait blocks don't have the same effectiveness killing rats. It seems I'm only feeding them now, and their colony is growing leaps and bounds.

Works as advertised and easy to handle
Got this for bait stations in a yard that has lots of underbrush where rats can hide. Bait seems to be working - I refill as it empties and I've seen no rats in many months. Wondered if squirrels would get to it, too, but apparently the bait stations keep them away (hole is big enough if squirrel really wanted to get to the bait) because I still see squirrels looking for food and fussing around my bird feeders. Product comes in sturdy plastic bucket with firm re-closable lid and is solid blocks so easy to handle and insert in bait stations. Very pleased with this bait and will likely buy more when I run out (I'm told you can never completely rid a yard of rats as more will come, but bait keeps the numbers down. And I can buy several buckets for a single pest control service visit (they do the same thing with bait stations), so very cost effective.
