PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide (also known as Prescription Treatment (PT) 565 Plus XLO), manufactured by BASF, is a low odor aerosol insecticide that quickly kills insects like spiders and gnats on contact.

With its low odor and non-residual effects, it can be sprayed into cracks, crevices, voids, and as a space spray application for a broad range of flying and crawling pests. As a pressurized non-residual insecticide it will enhance insect control in sensitive areas such as commercial areas.

PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide is a professional aerosol insecticide that provides a quick knockdown of pests through the use of natural pyrethrins 0.5% and two powerful synergists Piperonyl butoxide 1.0%, and n-Octyl Bicycloheptene Dicarboximide 1.0%. Based on the pyrethrins from an organic compound derived from the Chrysanthemum flower effects the pests central nervous system. While also acting as an irritant to flush pests deep within cracks. In addition the two potent synergists helps to boost the natural power of the pyrethrins for total indoor and outdoor insect control.

Tools Needed

Tools are not needed to apply PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol. Each 14 oz can does come with an applicator straw for cracks and crevice and flushing applications. 

PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide can also be applied with the BASF Whitemire System lll applicator tool.

How to Use

• Step 1: To make treatment applications with the PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide can, begin by shaking the can to agitate the formula and then remove the cap and place the applicator straw onto the can. For indoor applications, make sure to remove pets, birds, and cover fish aquariums and turn off motor before application. If making space spray applications, turn off air conditions and fans; and close doors and windows before treating.
• Step 2: When applying PT 565 Plus XLO to cracks and crevices or void areas, place the applicator straw into cracks, crevices, holes, or other small openings where insects may be harboring, living, and breeding. Press down the button for 1 second. For light infestations, move injector tip along cracks while treating at the rate of 3 feet per second. For heavy infestations, move injector tip along at 1 foot per second. The amount of product applied is not to exceed 1 second (1.5 grams) per square foot.
• Step 3: For direct spray applications, apply from a distance of 18 to 24 inches from the surface in short bursts and allow the material to drift to the area to be treated. The amount of product applied is not to exceed 10 seconds per room for residential areas or 10 seconds per 100 sq. ft. for commercial areas.
• Step 4: For space spray applications, calculate the cubic footage of the area to be treated. Apply at the rate of 1 to 3 seconds per 1,000 cubic feet to get rid of flying insects. Apply at the rate of 20 seconds per 1,000 cubic feet to get rid of crawling insects. Disperse the product in areas where infestation is greater while spraying as much insects as possible. Exit the room and keep the treated area closed for 15 minutes. Open and thoroughly ventilate before reoccupying. The amount of product applied is not to exceed 20 seconds (30 grams) per 1,000 cubic feet. Do not make space spray applications to food areas when the facility is in operation.
• Step 5: Reapply PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide every 7 to 10 days, as needed, until infestation is eliminated. Allow areas to ventilate and dry before entering or touching.

Where to Use

PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol can be applied indoors or outdoors to treat cracks and crevices, and wall voids. It can be used in and around apartments, campgrounds, food storage areas, homes, hospitals, hotels, motels, nursing homes, resorts, restaurants and other food handling establishments, schools, supermarkets, transportation equipment (boats, buses, planes, ships, trains, and trucks), utilities, and warehouses, and other commercial and industrial buildings.

Outdoor applications can only be made on the buildings surfaces and spot treatments on structures.

Non-food areas to be treated include garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains (to sewers), entries and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets, and storage rooms (after canning or bottling).

Do not spray on plastic, painted, or varnished surfaces or directly into any electrical equipment such as radios, television, computers, etc.

When to Use

PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide should be used when low to high levels of crawling and flying pests are found indoors and outdoors. It should only be used when the cans temperature is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

When used as a direct spray, do not enter or allow others to enter until sprays have dried. Nor apply this product outdoors during rain.

For space spray applications in food handling and processing facilities: do not make applications when facility is in operation, cover or remove food in the treatment area, and cover food processing surfaces in the treatment area or clean after treatment and before use.

Safety Information

PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying or handeling this product.

For direct application to clothing, dry clean treated clothes before wearing.

Do not allow adults, children, or pets to enter the treated area for at least 15 minutes and until vapors, mists, and aerosols have dispersed and the treated has been thoroughly ventilated.

Special Considerations

When applying PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol as a space spray, turn off any air circulation devices such as ceiling fans and A/C-Heat, and close the doors and windows for maximum results.

Once dried, PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide will not continue to kill insects that interact with treated areas.
