OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant, manufactured by Aqua-Aid, is a excellent water soluble surfactant that aids in controlling soil water repellency and helps provide uniform soil moisture for a longer period of time.

This modern surfactant is a combination of the university researched, field proven, and patented organic acid redistribution system, OARS, and multi-branched penetrant chemistry. This means that unlike other penetrants which stop at the surface of the plants, OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant provides fast and long-lasting control deep into the soil to avoid dry spots and reduce LDS.

OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant improves water management efficiency on turf by removing humic coating from hydrophobic soil particles, resulting in greater penetration of water leading to a stronger, faster growing turf.

Tools Needed

To use OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant, you will need a handheld pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.

Do not combine OARS PS in the spray tank with pesticides or fertilizers.

How to Use

Backpack Sprayer Spraying

  • Step 1: Determine how much OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 4 to 5 oz. of OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass. When 30 days have passed after the first application of at least 5 oz. of product, difficult to manage areas may require a second application at the rate of 2 to 2.5 oz. of product in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For increased surface firmness, use 6 to 8 oz. of product in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass.
  • Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant, then pour in remaining half of water. Shake the container until the solutions is evenly mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant mixture to the top and bottom of grass blades until wet. After application, irrigate with sufficient water to deliver OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant to the soil profile - 1/8 inch (3 mm) or more recommended. When 30 days have passed after first application, you may reapply this product.

Where to Use

Use OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant on golf, lawns, and sports turf.

When to Use

OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant can be applied at any time of the year to avoid the detrimental impact of water repellency stress and localized dry spots on turf and to increase the vigorous appearance of turfgrass.
