OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant
OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant
OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant, manufactured by Aqua-Aid, is a specially developed surfactant that improves soil water repellency, provide uniform soil moisture, and increased soil moisture retention.
Not to be confused with OARS PS Soil Penetrating Surfactant, which goes underneath the soil for deeper hydration. OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant is a superior dual action formulation that promotes balanced soil water hydration on the surface of soil to reduce drought stress and increase length of water activity in the soil.
OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant is an excellent soil hydrating surfactant that differs from other traditional surfactants due to it have a higher molecular weight and has multiple interactive sites, therefore each branch of this product is a wetting agent itself. This branching (increasing the number of chain reactions) will increase the interaction between the soil and surfactant promoting a vigorous green, and healthier appearance of turf.
Tools Needed
To apply OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant, you will need a backpack sprayer or handheld pump sprayer.
Do not tank mix this product with other pesticides and fertilizers.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 4 to 5 oz. of OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass. When 30 days have passed and an initial 5 oz. application of this product has passed, drought conditions can be best managed by applying 2 to 2.5 oz. of product in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turf at 15 day intervals or as needed. For extreme drought conditions with high temperatures and/or increased soil water repellency, apply 6 to 8 oz. of product in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant, then pour in remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and shake the tank until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant mixture to the top and bottom of grass blades until wet. Irrigate with sufficient water to push OARS HS Soil Hydrating Surfactant into the soil by 1/8 inches or more. You may reapply this product when 30 days have passed after last application.
