Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait, manufactured by Kaput, is a powerfully formulated granule product to eliminate and control California ground squirrels infestations, and their fleas as well.
This easy to use squirrel killing bait uses the active ingredient Diphacinone 0.0025% and Imidacloprid 0.0250%, which works to cause blood clotting in squirrels and paralysis in fleas resulting in a fast death for both pests.
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait is a easy-to-use bait that has a highly palatable oat-based formulation that competes well with the squirrel's natural food sources.
Tools Needed
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait must be used in a secured, tamper-resistant bait station.
Do not use these implements used for baiting for mixing, holding, or transferring foods or feeds.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before using the Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait, you will need to determine where California ground squirrels are most active. Once you have determine this place 2 to 4 lbs. of the Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait per secured bait stations with a glove covered hand. Depending on the infestation, secure each loaded bait station 20 to 100 feet apart.
- Step 2: Using waterproof gloves and a long handled scooping device transfer the measured amount of Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait from the container to the bait station.
- Step 3: Check bait stations frequently to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bait is always available for at least 15 days, or until there no longer are any signs of feeding. Collect and bury dead rodents while wearing waterproof gloves. Dispose of leftover bait according to "Pesticide Disposal".
Where to Use
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait can be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations around buildings (including areas such as yards and flower gardens). Secure bait stations at locations where they will be readily accessible to California ground squirrels, preferably near active burrows.
When to Use
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait should only be used when you have discovered damage done by California ground squirrels, or if they have invaded your home or place of business.

Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.

Vey effective at killing Ca Squirrels
I have 2 acre property with Vineyard that had been over run with these pests. A few weeks of using Kaput and I have not seen any in days. One thing is do not order the 5lb size its not enough to kill them and you will end up ordering the larger size.

So far it looks like this is working, only a week into it. make sure you keep up on the feeding, it goes quickly. I let it go without checking for about a week when I first got it, and I still saw those little suckers running around. No that I have a routine, and filling the bait boxes every other day I'm not seeing the so much, maybe the heat. We will see, but I can tell you the bait is being eaten.

Hard to say exactly how effective this is, but it keeps disappearing from the bait boxes and there are fewer ground squirrels in the area after a few weeks of using it.

Q:will it kill regular fox squirrels?8/28/20A:I don't know. It took care of the California ground squirrels pictured on the product. My guess is it will work in the same manner with most rodents. My problem is that I can no longer buy it out here in this "protect everything from everything state" of California.

Q:Does it kills mice and rats?7/21/20A:It's not really formulated for mice and rats although the rodenticide ingredient should work on them. The best poison by far for mice and rats is JT Eaton Peanut Butter Bait Block, available also at this store. You should use a bait station when you use it. The rats will just run inside, eat it and then run off and die. You can also use a live trap, and I recommend baiting with apple pieces which they love.

Q:does this works for all squirrels or just ground squirrels?6/2/20A:In my area, there are only ground squirrels, no tree squirrels. Usually I put out enough bait in more than place. This will allow other squirrels to feed freely on the bait without being driven away by the dominant ground squirrels. After feeding on the bait, fewer squirrels will show up. Keep feeding until all of them are gone. But be on the watch because ground squirrels from the surrounding area will start moving into a vacant territory/yard like yours and re-populate your area.
