Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL, manufactured by Solutions, is a large glue board offered to capture various pests like rats and snakes. Every glue board has 1/2 lb of glue which is pre-baited with peanut butter and formulated to be non-toxic. This strong aroma lures persistent and hard to kill pests like rats, insects and reptiles, such as snakes and lizards from their hiding places.

This large glueboard measures at 18" x 10". These boards are designed to lie flat, or be folded up into a tent-like tunnel for use in dusty areas effectively trapping snakes and other pests. The Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL is excellent for the removal of numerous rodents out of heavily infested areas as the board is designed to be able to hold several rodents at one time.

Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL can be used for various pest situations and may also be cut to fit into irregularly shaped or confined spaces where rodents, insects or reptiles need to be controlled. Use it as part of a total rodent control program.

Tools Needed

There are no tools needed to use the Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL. However, you will need to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves to mask your scent from rodents.

How to Use

Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL in Outdoor Settings

  • Step 1: Wearing gloves, peel off the protective wax paper off of the plastic glue tray. The gloves will keep human scent off the glueboard so as not to make rodents avoid them.
  • Step 2: Strategically place the trap in an area you have seen rodent activity. Rats prefer dark enclosed spaces and along rodent runways (flush against walls, beside or between appliances, or under furniture). The trap's peanut butter scent should help to make the rat more attracted to the glueboard. To learn how to trap a snake, you will simply place the Solutions Pro Rat Glueboard XL in pathways most used by rodents since snakes will follow or linger near these areas.
  • Step 3: Once the rodent is caught, dispose of the rat and glue board appropriately.

Where to Use

Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL should be used in residential, industrial, commercial buildings and other related structures. They work best in sensitive areas like food prep sites, kitchens, hospitals, and other sensitive areas where poison is prohibited or discouraged. For best results, place the trap around areas that rodents are active such as, in corners and along baseboards and walls to capture rodents and to catch a snake.

When to Use

Use the Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL when you have encountered a rodent in your home or structure or to monitor an insect or lizard infestation. Rodents sneak indoors in the winter when temperatures have dropped and roach problems can any time of the year. The Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL is also useful if you want a non-lethal means of capturing a rodent.

Safety Information

Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label directions and placed in areas out of reach.

Keep the glue boards away from pets and small children so they do not accidentally get stuck onto the board. If this does happen, you can use vegetable oil to loosen the stickiness.

Special Considerations

Rodents may hop over traps so it best to place 2 or more Solutions Pro Rat Glue Board XL near each other with at least 1" space between them in areas of severe infestations.

Keith's Pro Tips"A neat trick is to try leaving the wax paper on the trap for a couple of days to about a week to let the rodents get used to the boards. When rodents have gotten used to the boards (you can tell by chew marks, droppings, ect. nearby) then remove all of the wax paper from the boards, now when the rodents run across the boards they will get stuck and never see it coming."
Product DrawbacksThough the size of the trap is a plus for efficient rat trapping, it is very large and it may be hard to place discreetly.

Works great no spraying no smell
We have alot of rat snakes that often come into my shed looking for rodents. Spread a dozen of these glueboards in my shed and under work benches. Trapped snakes as expected and held them until we were ready to get rid of them. Don't wait longer than a day though - dont want to make the pest suffer.
Holds alot of insects, snakes, and rodents
Very sticky and easy to use.
The mice in my home are very attracted to the peanut butter smell on these glue boards. However, these are OK for pests like spiders. It depends on what you are trying to attract since spiders only hunt bugs and are not lured by peanut butter.
Very sticky and holds captured pests

Effective and Easy
Used a couple of these in my shed and caugh one large snake and rats in the past. It was large enough to give me enough space to grab at the glue trap without coming close to the dead rat.

Have not caught nothing
Rodents don’t go near the glue pads . My big Rottweiler dog stepped on one. And my toddler grand child. But no rodent . I have tried everything. Poison, glue traps the wood traps etc. even carbon monoxide. He did not die. He comes out at night and nibbles at my feet. ???????You have a very secure business. Even when Armageddon comes the rodents will survive. ??

Questions and Answers
  1. Q:Once the rat is stuck - does it die? As in, when trying to remove the glue board, will I be dealing with a live rat?
    3/11/24
A:Depending on dehydration and suffocation the rat trapped in the glue can take 24-48 hours to perish. If the rodent is still alive and you don't want to wait this time frame then use a shovel to remove the trapped rodent and properly dispose of it in a fast and humane way.
