Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer, manufactured by Solutions Pest and Lawn, is a effective fertilizer made for lawns and turf that endure hot and humid summer weather.

This slow-release granule works well with St. Augustine or Bermudagrass. Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer also has a secondary micronutrient package mixed in. The micronutrient package promotes vibrant green grass without promoting excessive growth so that the lawn can be enjoyed without having to mow as often.

Solutins Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 is the perfect product to have in your summer lawn care program without the risk of burn.

Tools Needed

To apply Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer, you will need to broadcast the product with a push spreader. Ensure your spreader is properly calibrated. You will also need a weighing scale and bucket to measure how much product you need based on your treatment area.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Prepare your lawn by mowing it to its normal height 1 to 2 days before application, and water your lawn thoroughly at least 1 day before application. Mowing your lawn ensures a less dense treatment area, allowing the Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer an easier time reaching the soil. Watering ensures your soil doesn't go dry during treatment, which would negatively impact the effectiveness of this product.
  • Step 2: Calculate the amount of Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer you will need to use by calculating the treatment areas square footage. Do this by multiplying the areas length by its width. According to the products label, you will need to apply 5 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. of treatment area.
  • Step 3: When its time to apply, load your spreader with the proper amount of Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer. Make sure the grass is dry before application.
  • Step 4: Evenly distribute all of your product throughout your treatment area. With a push spreader, broadcast half your granules in parallel lines once across your area, then broadcast the other half at a perpendicular angle to cover the area in its entirety.
  • Step 5: Once you have distributed all your Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer, water the lawn thoroughly to wash any fertilizer granules stuck on grass blades into the soil.

Where to Use

Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer is particularly made for southern lawns or turf where it is hot and humid. It is also great for golf courses and sport fields.

Avoid spreading this product near concrete walkways, driveways, stucco, or asbestos siding as the iron in the fertilizer can stain these areas. If fertilizer is accidentally spread to those places, wash it off immediately.

Keep this product out of swimming pools.

When to Use

The best time to apply Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer is when your grass is actively growing. This will depend on what species of grass your lawn is made of and the region you live in. Generally, the earliest this product should be applied is March, and the latest is the end of August.

Safety Information

Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.

Special Considerations

Before applying any fertilizer, conduct a soil test to determine your lawns current nutrient composition. Too much nitrogen at once will cause turf grass to burn and encourage disease and fungal development, but Solutions Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer is a slow-release fertilizer, so you won't have to worry about overfeeding your lawn.

If applying Pro Grow Summer Blend 19-4-10 Fertilizer to Bermuda grass lawns, use 1.5 times the labeled rate.

Most active infestations cannot be controlled through the use of one product. To ensure your lawn stays green throughout the growing season, you will also need a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weeds from emerging, a post-emergent herbicide to remove established weeds, and regular lawn care, maintenance, and cultural practices to keep your lawn green and lush.

Best fertilizer for a East Texas Lawn!
I've used this fertilizer for the past 3 years and I will never buy any other Box Store brand ever again! I've been using this 19-4-10 blend for the last 3 years and it gives me a nice thick, dark green lawn. I use it at least 3 times during the Summer months. I live in La Porte, TX (SE of Houston). I would recommend this product to everyone!

  1. Q:Hi, how do I determine the spreader setting for 1000 or 2000 sq feet?? (Scott broadcast spreader) Also can I apply Bifen LP right after applying the fertilizer and setting for Bifen LP too?? Do I have to apply any other fertilizer If I use Pro grow summer every 2 months if so which one should I purchase ?? this will be apply in Florida warm and humid weather 9 months of the year and mild weather for 2 to 3 months

A:I know this is 2 years late but I just came across this. I am by no means a professional, just offering what I did. I have an Echo RB60 spreader which its settings tend to be pretty darn close to the Scott's spreaders. This product is like sand, very small granules. I have my spreader set on 2.5, with this setting and doing the math for my square footage, this setting was probably as close to perfect as I am going to get. Not exact science, but if you put a little of the product (like a handful or less) in your spreader AROUND, not on the opening and pull the lever, you can eyeball to see will the product fit through the opening, does the size make sense? Is it going to dump or does this seem like a logical opening size to allow product to flow, but not to dump? Thats how I got down to my setting. Hope this helps.

  10. Q:What fertilizer do you recommend for centipede grass in East Texas?
    6/27/18
A:You will want to avoid high levels of fertilizer and not over apply. Centipede grass doesn't respond well to high doses of fertilizer. Too much nitrogen will cause a flush of growth susceptible to disease, and phosphorus will deplete iron levels. Use a phosphorus-free fertilizer such as 15-0-15, with only about 2 pounds of nitrogen per 1000 square feet.
