Premise Foam is manufactured by Bayer and is a foaming termiticide that comes in a ready to use can with no measuring, mixing or waiting around required. Premise Foam delivers precisely formulated dry foam every time, under any conditions, to attack termite problems on the spot. Premise Foam is a non-repellent, meaning that termites will not be able to detect the poison and will walk over it and ingest it unknowingly.

A single 18 ounce can can produce five gallons of foam which can expand to a 30:1 ratio to cover hard to reach areas such as inside termite galleries, wall voids, floor voids and more. The foam comes with two applicator tips to make it easy to shoot the foam.

Tools Needed

There are no tools needed to operate the Premise Foam as it comes ready to use, but you may need a drill to drill holes in walls to inject the foam.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Inspect and note areas that you are certain termite activity is taking place or where termite galleries are established.
  • Step 2: If needed, drill holes into walls and voids roughly the size of a nail. Poke holes every 18 inches down a wall, 10 feet in each direction. Premise Foam is dispensed at approximately 0.2 fluid ounces of liquid formulation or 50 cubic inches of foam per second.
  • Step 3: Shake the Premise can and attach the applicator tip to the Premise Foam and inject the Foam, pressing for about 10 seconds to get sufficient foam into the void.
  • Step 4: Apply the Premise Foam where you have termite or ant activity or other wood-boring insects. These can be in cracks and crevices along windows and doors, wall voids, crawl spaces, behind sheetrock and other areas where there may be a termite gallery.

Where to Use

crawl space treatment

Use Premise Foam to treat insect galleries in damaged wood, into spaces between wooden structural members, or into voids within the construction. Locations treated may include, but are not limited to, exposed wooden elements in crawlspaces, basements, or attics, unexposed wooden elements inside walls or other structural voids, exterior wooden elements in decks, fencing or siding, channels in damaged wood, in spaces between wooden elements of a structure, and junctions between wood and foundations. Use this product in commercial and residential structures, as well as other, non-structural wooden constructions subject to termite or wood-infesting insect attack.

When to Use

Premise Foam should be used as part of a termite treatment program or when there is a ant infestation or carpenter bees which are doing damage to wood.

Safety Information

Premise Foam is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Have on the necessary PPE when applying and keep children and pets away from the treated area until the product has dried.

Special Considerations

Premise Foam comes in an 18 ounce can with a nozzle connected to a flexible tube/straw, and two plastic tip attachments for ease of access to reach termite galleries.

Saved my client $764!!
I'm a Realtor in Southern California, the termite company wanted $870 for 2 MINOR spot treatment areas & replacement of a wood section about the size of a business card. I called a different termite co & the lady on the phone even said to me ""the termite work for that property is 'practically non-existent'"", yet she still said it would cost $500 for them to come out to fix it & give us a clearance report. I said ""how is something that's (your words) Non-existent, still going to cost $500?"", Then I tell her that ""I just bought some Premise Foam online for $36 w/ 3 day shipping & I watched the DIY video, I've got my handyman & we're going to go drill some holes & get it done!"", She Cackled at me saying I'm not a licensed termite person & I can't do that & there's no way a civilian like me could buy Premise Foam & she sarcastically wished me good luck & hung up on me! I got it done for $106 total & in 9 minutes & I still have about 90% foam left in my can, so I guess you could say my total cost was $73.60 w/ my handyman. I video taped it & you can watch my video on YouTube called ""Saving Money DIY Spot Treatment For Termites""

Previous termite info was mind numbing until I found your web site. I've noticed a small swarm of winged termites near my basement bathroom. There's a slight crack in the foundation near the floor. I believe it's they're entry point. I purchased the premise foam as a first step in this battle. It worked great but I plan to purchase larger quantities of some of your other items. The online information and directions are great for DIY'ers like myself. It gives me peace of mind to find products I can diligently apply and not break the bank!Thank you!

Questions and Answers
  1. Q:Can I use this on furniture?
    2/8/21
A:I've never used it on furniture but I did use it on an infested hard wood oak floor. Drilled my holes and injected the foam into the floor. It worked!

  3. Q:Can I use just some of the can and use the rest later or do I have to use the entire can because the tube will dry with chemical like an insulation foam product for homes and then it will be useless?
    8/11/19
A:You can use some now and some later. Unlike insulation foam the Premise “foam” is more water soluble. The tube can be rinsed out when thru using. Also the Premise foam liquifies after a few minutes so even if you didn’t rinse the tube there is not much that would harden and block the pathway.

  4. Q:I find some termite inside of my basement celling drywall. Can I use foam to kill them? And how? Thanks for help!
    7/9/17
A:Yes, you can use Premise Foam to control termites in a wall void. It is typically not recommended as a stand alone treatment, so I would inspect the exterior and try and locate the mud tubes or other entry locations and treat those areas appropriately.
