Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% is an easy to use iron product that readily becomes available to trees, shrubs, and potted plants once applied for a stronger and more colorful bloomage of plants.

Tools Needed

To apply Monterey Sequestar Iron 6%, you will need a backpack sprayer if you intend to apply as a drench application or with a handheld spreader for dry applications. A hydroponics systems may also be used.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find the size of the shrub or tree, you will measure the distance around the tree trunk or the height of the shrub. Measure distance in inches around the tree trunk at chest height. If there are multiple tree trunks, add their measurements together. For trees (including fruit, citrus and nut trees), apply 1/2 - 2 oz. of Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% for each inch of trunk diameter measured at chest height. For shrubs (including berries, grapes, roses, etc.), use 2 oz. for small shrubs and 2 oz. per inch of trunk diameter for large shrubs. For ornamental bedding plants, vegetables, and groundcovers, use 2 oz. of product per 100 sq. ft. or band 2-4 oz. of product per 100 feet of row. For potted plants, apply 1/4 teaspoon of product per 8 inch pot and 1/2 teaspoon per 12 inch pot. For hydroponics systems, apply 4 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water.
• Step 2: If Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% is applied dry, then load the proper amount into your calibrated spreader. To mix with water, you will need to pour half the amount of water into a separate container, then add the measured amount of product, and lastly add the remaining half of water. Mix the solution until granules have dissolved and pour into your sprayer appropriately.
• Step 3: Spread the dry or mixed Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% to the soil with the drip line beneath the plant and shallowly incorporate or irrigate into the soil.

Where to Use

Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% can be used on the soil beneath trees, shrubs, ornamental bedding plants, vegetables, groundcovers, and the soil within potted plants.

When to Use

Use Monterey Sequestar Iron 6% annually in the spring and when iron chlorosis symptoms appear.

Special Considerations
