Martin's Gopher Bait 50 (Strychnine)
Martin's Gopher Bait 50 (Strychnine)
Martin's Gopher Bait 50, manufactured by CSI, is a specially treated grain that uses a fast-acting powerful bait made with strychnine alkaloid 0.50% to poison nuisance gophers in and around your yard. One pound of bait will treat between 1 to 8 acres, offering greater gopher control at a economic value.
This ready to use granular bait can be placed directly in active burrows or tunnels of pocket gophers. Formulated with the active ingredient Strychnine Alkaloid 0.50% to effectively get rid of pocket gophers and consists of special flavoring to attract this pest for a quick elimination.

Q:Can this product be used for moles?4/12/23A:It is designed for Eastern pocket gophers and other gophers; I have tried it on moles with variable results. The mole peanuts you get at Lowe's or Home Depot would likely work better.

Q:What is the best means to have rats attracted to eating this bait? Do you put it in food or will they eat it by itself?3/6/23A:It's gopher bait meant to be applied to underground tunnels. I'd be very careful using it for above ground applictions. I think a rat would eat it if it were in a tube trap but, this is serious poison. You don't want to risk a pet or kid getting to it.

Q:So are gophers actually drawn to it like bait? I know it's called "bait" but is it appealing to them or do they just eat it to get it out of their way?5/11/22

Q:If this product contains enough strychnine to kill a gopher, how come rats can eat and it does absolutely nothing to them? Purchased this product in January of 2022. I wasted my money as the whole bottle was used but not a single dead rat.3/3/22A:I’m not 100% and just a customer myself. So typically gophers/ground squirrels get most of their water through grasses, roots, etc…. They do not always live close to a water source. Rats however do need and look for the same needs we do. Food, shelter, breeding ground, and water. Going through that much is puzzling but not sure if the water consumption is diluting it that bad? As far as rats go I have found that First Strike Soft Bait is the best for my area. Sorry if this didn’t help. I just wanted to give you another avenue for baiting your issue.
