Contrac All Weather Blox, manufactured by Bell Laboratories, Inc., is a single-feeding anticoagulant rodenticide containing bromadiolone.

Contrac Blox kills various types of rats, mice, and meadow voles. Each bait block has pre-drilled holes for inserting in bait stations to provide a safer control method. Contrac Blox are made with a special food blend that rodents have a hard time refusing.

When combating the toughest infestations, Contrac Blox provides fast results, as rodents die within 2 to 4 days of eating.

Tools Needed

To apply Contrac All Weather Blox outdoors and in areas where pets, children, and non-targeted wildlife have access, a tamper-proof bait station is required.

How to Use

Contrac Bait Blox in a Bait Station

  • Step 1: Determine the areas where rodent activity has occurred (along walls, gnawed openings, corners, concealed places, etc.). Proceed to remove as much alternative food as possible with a thorough cleanup.
  • Step 2: In tamper-proof bait stations, place 1 per placement 8 to 12 feet apart for mice and 3 to 16 blocks per placement for rats spaced 15 to 30 feet apart. It is recommended to set out empty bait stations then add Contrac Blox a few days later. This will earn trust and prevent rodents from avoiding the station. Place baited stations around the perimeter of the building structure and around areas where activity has been seen.
  • Step 3: Check treated areas daily to clean up any dead rodents or leftover bait. Replenish and replace spoiled bait every day for up to 15 days or until rodent activity has stopped.

Where to Use

Contrac Bait Blox in a Bait Station

Contrac All Weather Blox can be used indoors and outdoors. The baited blocks can be placed along walls near chew marks, under sinks, in attics, and where other rodent activity is found. If Contrac Blox are placed in areas where children, pets, or other wildlife have access, tamper-proof bait stations are required.

For outdoor areas, bait stations can be placed along perimeters of residential, commercial, and industrial building structures and along fence lines where they mostly travel. Tamper-proof bait stations filled with Contrac Blox are ideal for restaurants, manufacturing plants, hotels, hospitals, schools, and more.

Contrac Blox should not be placed over 100 feet away from any building structure or placed in random areas out in the open as most rodents travel along walls or fence lines.

When to Use

Contrac Blox can be used anytime rat, mice or meadow vole activity is recognized. Contrac Blox can also be continuously applied in areas where control is on-going for places like restaurants or manufacturing plants.

Keith's Pro Tips"When searching for rodent activity around outdoor areas, look for holes dug around the perimeter of the house. Also, look in flowerbeds where vegetation has been compressed down to the soil caused by rodents running back and forth. Both of these are great indicators that there is a rodent problem outside and maybe inside the home."

It works great when you first put it out. after about 3 days dead mice and rats start showing up around the house and shop. then it tapers off fairly quickly. so I change out the bait every 2 months. a pest control pro told me that this is what they use. some times the rats will drag a blox out of the box. and leave it there we have 3 cats and two dogs. so fat none of the have shown any interest in the poison and the dead rodents have been chewed or half eaten except heads and tails. with no sickness. only wish it stayed fresh longer

  1. Q:My dog may have licked one. What's our worries and what to watch out for?
    11/25/20
A:My experience with it is: my friends dog got into our yard one day and ate a couple blocks. He seemed ok and pooped it out. I would watch to see if he become lethargic. As soon as you notice bring to the vet. That would be worse case. If he just licked it your probably ok.

  6. Q:How fast does it go stale, to where rodents won't touch it?
    5/10/20
A:I ordered 3 containers of this stuff and I'm still putting it out and the rats eat it as fast as I can put it in the boxes. So at least 3 years for me. I've kept them sealed in a cool garage. not sure if that helps or not.

  7. Q:How many blox are in the 18 lb ?
    11/15/19
A:18lbs divided by 288 = .0625 which equals 1 ounce. My crazy lab dog just ate 2 blocks after destroying the trap. Dog poison control says she is ok as long she doesn't have over 6 ounces. whew

  10. Q:Do these work on voles?
    9/22/18
A:Don’t know. They eat the bait then go off somewhere to die. I know they work well on mice and rats because they (and possibly voles) are eating the bait. We live on 5 acres of forest, so we probably have voles. Have only seen one success, a rat.
