Advance Carpenter Ant Bait, manufactured by BASF, is a specially formulated abamectin based granular bait that provides reliable ant control in and around structures, lawns, and residential areas.
This protein-based granular bait contains a delayed action that gives the ants enough time to take the lethal material back to their nest to control the entire colony.
Advance Carpenter Ant Bait is an attractive protein-based ant bait that givers users flexbility to control ants in different areas of the property including around termite bait stations.
Tools Needed
To use Advance Carpenter Ant Bait, you can either just shake or sprinkle the contents out of the box or use a hand or push spreader for a more even broadcast application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Advance Carpenter Ant Bait you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). For outdoor applications, apply 0.4 oz. of Advance Carpenter Ant Bait per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1 lb. of product per acre. To make outdoor applications around structures, use 0.3 oz. of product per 100 linear feet. For individual colony treatments, apply 1.5 to 3 oz. of product per ant colony. To make indoor applications, use 5 tablespoons of product per treatment site.
- Step 2: Properly load the spreader with the proper amount of Advance Carpenter Ant Bait.
- Step 3: Make even applications of Advance Carpenter Ant Bait to the treatment area. In the home, all food processing surfaces and utensils should be covered during treatment or thoroughly washed before use. Exposed food should be covered or removed.

Don't expect immediate results, they have to carry it back to their Queen and feed her the surprise to kill the whole colony. This larger grit size over the 375A seems to attract the red/black variety that plague me. Solutions is the best price i've found, always fast shipping and they send the correct product(375 instead of the smaller 375A).

This kit includes two different types of treatment for carpenter ants and they are working as the ants are slowly disappearing. You should consider getting the MaxForce Bait Gun, which although expensive, has an extension that allows you get the bait into small areas, where you either cannot reach or do not want to reach.

Q:Can you use on inside of home ?5/15/20A:I have used it at door thresholds and inside a bathroom. The bathroom doesn't get much use so I've been able to leave the granules down for several days. I also go outside at dusk and sprinkle it where the ants are active. It has made a big difference,the ants are almost gone.

Q:If the carpenter ants are outside on my deck area and I use this product what will happen if it rains or storms. Will the product still work?5/30/18A:The rain will dissolve it. I always apply it in the late afternoon when ants seem to be more active at food gathering and before evening dew can get it. They will make short work of it, though, most my application is gone within an hour. Works great in this larger grit size for the red/black carpenter ants that plague me.

Q:How long does it take for granule bait to kill carpenter ant?12/19/17A:Ants have two different needs, protein and energy (sugar). The call to go find these comes at different times. This bait is protein, so if you put it down at a time when the call is "need protein", then it will be effective within a day. If not then it might have to last until this call comes. Probably within two weeks.

Q:What is the advantage of Advance 375 for carpenter ants over Advance 375A which seems to be more readily available.6/13/17A:Although the chemical is the same in both products, the attractant is different, the Advance Carpenter Ant bait is a shrimp based protein formulation with a larger grit size, which makes it easier to pick up for carpenter ants. Advance 375A is a smaller size bait and works better for other ants as listed on the label.
