Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait, manufactured by BASF, is a ready-to-use product that is designed to address indoor and outdoor ant infestations around a home or building.
This bait formulation combines a mixture of foods and the delayed action insecticide, Abamectin. This insecticide acts to reduce the population of worker ants and can cause an immediate halt in egg production resulting in colony elimination.
The bait is protein-based which is attractive to many ant species who prefer to eat protein.
Tools Needed
To use Advance 375A Ant Bait, you do not need any tools as the product can be sprinkled or shook out of the container, but you can optionally use a spreader, a duster or bait sheets when applying the product in certain areas.
How to Use
Step 1: Determine how much Adance 375A is needed by calculating the size of the treatment area in square feet. To do this, measure (in feet) the area length and the width and then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). Advance 375A Bait should be applied at a rate of 0.4 oz per 1,000 sq. ft. So for example, if you measured a 3,000 sq. ft. area, you would need 1.2 oz. of bait to cover the area. To treat individual ant colonies, the rate is 1.5 to 2.1 oz of product per mound.
Step 2: Sprinkle Advance 375A Granules around ant mound/location at the rate listed on the label. You can watch the ants carry the bait back to the mounds within moments. Around structures, lightly sprinkle the product evenly in a band approximately 1-2 feet wide around the foundation of the building. Treat visible trails with approximately 0.3 to 1 ounce of the product depending on the number of ants in the trail. Indoors, apply the product to cracks and crevices or voids where ants are active. In areas where there is heavy ant traffic and activity use up to 1.5 ounces of product. Use a bulb duster or other appropriate application device to place the product into tiny crevices or voids.
Step 3: Monitor the area for insect activity after a few days and repeat as needed until you no longer have an infestation.

Advance 375A Ant Bait can be applied in residential areas, commercial buildings, hotels, lawns, Warehouses, food storage area, meatpacking plants, motels, schools, supermarkets, nursing homes, golf courses, parks and basically anywhere you are having an ant infestation that you want to get rid of. Focus areas of treatment around ant trails and places where they have frequented.
When To Use
Advance 375A Ant Bait should be used when you have encountered an ant infestation in your home or building. This can be any time of the year but prime active time for ants are the warmer Spring and Summer months all the way through to Fall. Locate ants and determine feeding times. Something you can do to determine feeding time is placing a potato chip near an ant mound. It's feeding time when the chip is covered in ants.

This is the same stuff that the pest control man used, so I figured I could squirt a little myself. I used 1/4 of it around the whole house, so if i get 4 applications, I'll feel like it was a good value.

Not convinced this product works
I am not sure this product works. I have placed the Crystals round a cherry tree an oak tree and a maple tree. No visible effects yet. Around the cherry tree the ants are very active carrying the Crystal's AWAY from the tree. I would have thought they would be carrying them INTO the tree. The colony in that tree appears to be getting bigger. This is my second order for this product and I have been applying it for at least 3 weeks. I can't answer questions about value or effectiveness.

We had some very large ant mounds and a couple of applications seemed to take care of them. Directions on how much to use where rather confusing. For broadcasting, the amount seemed very small. For ant hills, the amount seemed very large. We took a few guesses which seemed to work.
