Talpirid Mole Bait
Talpirid Mole Bait
Talpirid Mole Bait is manufactured by Bell Laboratories and is a lethal anticoagulant bait designed to eradicate moles. Talpirid Mole Bait uses the active ingredient, bromethalin to kill moles within 24 to 48 hours after consuming the bait.
Talpirid is formulated to attract moles, even when real worms are available to them by being molded to look like earthworms--the main food source that moles enjoy. Moles can consume a lethal dose of Talpirid is one setting, causing them to die underground. Talpirid Mole Bait eliminates moles without messy or complicated traps, and safe to use in tunnels found on home lawns.
**DISCLAIMER** Depending on the weather during transit, it may get hot and the worms may melt. if this happens, simply get a bowl with ice-cold water and put the tray that they come in a plastic bag to restore them back into their original shape. We highly recommend that you use disposable gloves when handling and placing the Talpirid worms so you do not contaminate them with your scent.
Tools Needed
To apply Talpirid Mole Bait, a shovel or dirt removing the tool, pole or wooden dowel, ground markers, or flag markers are needed. The pole will assist in finding active mole tunnels and the flags help find the holes later when applying bait. You should also use gloves when placing bait so your personal scent doesn't get on the bait and confuse the moles or cause them to not want to consume the bait.
How to Use
- Step 1: Inspect the yard for moles by taking a pole or dirt-penetrating object and poke holes in the ground 5 to 10 feet apart where the mole tunnels are suspected. Place a flag marker near the holes made to keep track of the hole for bait placement.
- Step 2: Check the holes within 1 to 2 days and if they are covered back up, that means they are active. Dig new holes 1 to 3 feet on both sides of the original hole and place 1 Talpirid Mole Bait worm in each new hole. Be sure the bait is all the way in the hole inside the tunnel. Cover the hole with dirt.
- Step 3: Check the holes for plugs to be sure the moles ate the bait. Moles will most likely die in the tunnel and decompose underground within 48 hours.
- Step 4: To finish up, stomp down the runs and collect the lawn markers.
Where to Use
Talpirid Mole Bait is to be applied inside mole tunnels only. The bait can be used to kill moles on golf courses, residential lawns, ornamental gardens, parks, and more. Do not leave mole bait in areas where it can be obtained by pets or innocent wildlife. Do not apply mole bait above ground.
When to Use
Talpirid Mole Bait can be used when active mole tunnels have been confirmed on residential, agricultural or commercial landscapes.
Safety Information
Talpirid Mole Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment when applying Talpirid Mole Bait.
Special Considerations
One Talpirid Mole Bait worm is enough to kill at least 1 mole. Each box comes with 20 worms.
If temperatures are high, it may get hot enough that the worm bait may melt. if this happens, simply get a bowl with ice-cold water and put the tray that they come in a plastic bag to mold them back into their original shape. You could also try to briefly place the bait in a freezer to harden the bait again.
