Suspend SC Insecticide
Suspend SC Insecticide
Suspend SC Insecticide, manufacutured by Bayer, is a product that not only delivers an instant kill to problem pests but it also provides a great residual of up to 3 months after the initial application.
This effective suspended concentrate, is formualted with finely ground particles of the active ingredient that are suspended in water. Suspended SC Insecticide has no additional solvents, but it does contain surfactants to help suspend the solid particles and biocides to prevent microbial growth and extend its shelf life.
Suspended SC Insecticide contains the high-powered deltamethrin as an active ingredient that comes in the form of pure micro-crystals. It is due to the micro-crystals that Suspend SC carries a long-time residual and, rather than being absorbed into porous surfaces, the formula stays on the surface. Because of this, insects continue to contact them long after the insecticide has been applied.
Tools Needed
Suspended SC Insecticide will need to be mixed in water and sprayed with either a hand-pump or power pressurized sprayer, hose-end sprayer, a spray rig, or a foam sprayer. To use as a foam, an approved foaming agent must be added to the solution.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Suspended SC Insecticide you will need by first measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the treatment areas length and width in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Suspended SC Insecticide can be used at a 0.01% (0.25 fl. oz.), 0.03% (0.75 fl. oz.) or 0.06% (1.50 fl. oz.) dilution ratio per gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Use the higher rate for severe infestations. For example, if you wish to use the 0.06% rate and measured 2,500 sq. ft. of area, you will need to mix 3.75 fl. oz. of Suspended SC Insecticide in 2.5 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill approximately half of the spray container with water then apply the appropriate amount of Suspended SC Insecticide through the squeeze-n-pour feature to measure the correct amound of product needed based on your container size and calculations. Shake your container well then open it once more to fill the rest of the container with water. Close your container tightly and give it one last shake to ensure even distribution.
- Step 3: Apply a perimeter barrier application of Suspended SC Insecticide outdoors on all door frames, window frames, areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. Spray a band of soil 6 to 10 feet adjacent to the structure and also up the foundation at a height of 2 to 3 feet where pests may be active or may find an entrance. Indoors you can use it as a crack and crevice spot treatment where pests may be hiding. When spraying landscape ornamentals, be sure to coat the upper and lower leaf surfaces to ensure adequate coverage. For broadcast spraying, surface spraying, or barrier spraying, use a fan nozzle spray setting to get uniform coverage. For spot and crack and crevice spraying, use a cone setting or pin-stream nozzle for precision application.
Where to Use
Suspended SC Insecticide can be used in and around residential and non-residential buildings including in commercial kitchens and all types of food or feed handling establishments. Outdoors, treat the soil, turf, and substrate next to buildings. Treating the foundation of your home, walls, around doors, windows, and soffit areas is also useful because many insects hide in these areas. Indoors, apply this product as a crack and crevice treatment or spot treatment. Permitted areas of use include, but are not limited to apartments, food processing plants, hotels, residential homes, kitchens, schools, ships, trucks, and warehouses.
When to Use
Suspended SC Insecticide is best used during peak pest activity from Spring to Fall. Outdoors, apply on calm days to avoid wind drift.
Do not water or mow your lawn for 24 hours after application. Indoors, conduct your application when the space is unoccupied and will remain undisturbed until the product dries. When applying in food prep areas, make sure all food and utensils are removed or covered prior to application. Treatments may be applied at 21 day intervals or as necessary to maintain adequate control.
Safety Information
Suspended SC Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label directions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter into treatment areas until the product has dried completely.
Special Considerations
Agitate Suspended SC Insecticide so it doesn’t settle for best results when spraying.
To help avoid overapplication in spot and broadcast treatments outdoors, we recommend you use a marking dye like Vision Blue or Vision Pro Max. These products are temporary colorants used to indicate where you've already sprayed. When mixed into your spray solution, your application will leave turf a deep blue color, reminding you where have sprayed so you know not to apply there again.

Q:Hello, Does Suspend SC effective against biting midges, also known as "no- see-ums" or "sand flies"? Does it need to be reapplied periodically to catch the bugs as they become adults? Or, does the spray take care of the insects in the egg, larva, or other stages? Thank you!7/23/19A:I do not know as I do not know what are midges or no-see-ums. I love using it and it does kill big bugs such as centipedes. It killed a centipede 4 inches long.

Q:Can this be used to treat the grass in front of my apartment?8/3/18A:Yes, you certainly can. Mix in a tank sprayer according to the label directions and apply on your grass and get an even coating. I would also suggest using Bifen LP granules as a supplement to get rid of any other unwanted pests in your grass.

Q:Can I broadcast spray Suspend SC on my lawn (cool season kentucky blue grass) to kill a chinch bug infestation once hatched (they are visible in the thatch layer)?7/28/18A:Turfgrass Applications: Suspend SC Insecticide controls a broad spectrum of insects on turfgrasses and ornamental plants in outdoor areas such as athletic fields, recreational areas, residential landscapes, parks, and public and commercial sites such as around institutional commercial and industrial buildings. Uniform coverage is essential. Begin applications when pests are evident. Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a broadcast application using a conventional hydraulic boom-type sprayer or other suitable equipment for turfgrass pests according to the rates listed in the Application Rates for Turfgrass Sites table. Apply using a minimum of 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft. Higher volumes (4 to 10 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft.) may be needed for adequate coverage of dense turfgrass canopies and/or turfgrasses maintained under high mowing heights. Allow sufficient time for the application to dry before allowing pets or people to enter treatment area. Target insects must be exposed to the insecticide to be controlled. For optimum control of surfacefeeding insects, delay irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application. For subsurface-feeding insects, irrigate with 0.25 to 0.5 inch of water immediately after application. Tank Mixing: Suspend SC Insecticide has been found to be compatible with many commonly used pest control and fertilizer products. When tank-mixing Suspend SC Insecticide, observe all restrictions and precautions and limitations which appear on the label of each product. For any tank-mixture which has not been previously tested, mix the correct proportion of products and water in a quart jar to ensure proper physical compatibility of the mixture. Tank mixtures of Suspend SC Insecticide with silicone surfactants may improve the control of some insect
