Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, manufactured by quali-pro, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that is safe to use on various types of turf grasses to kill a variety of hard-to-control broad-leaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, even in its mature stages. Once applied, this superior systemic herbicide controls grasses and weeds from one month to 90 days.

It is a dry flowable powder that readily mixes with water to formulate a solution that is applied through sprayers to treat lawns and turfs. The solution is soaked into the foliage and transferred throughout the weed. Within a few days the weeds will begin a process called chlorosis where the weed curls up and change colors from green to white, then turn a red color and die.

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is an efficient weed killer that offers a great application and seeding flexibility, making it ideal for seeding and overseeding before or after application on labeled weeds.

Tools Needed

To apply Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, a pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer or a professional skid sprayer is needed.

How to Use

Backpack sprayer application of Quinclorac 75 DF

  • Step 1: Do not now mow 2 days before or after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. Determine how much Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide you will need to mix by first calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the areas length and width in feet and then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For spot applications, use 0.367 oz. of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide in a gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. It is not recommended to apply more than 2 pounds of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide per acre per year, which equals 0.73 ounces per 1,000 square feet per year.
  • Step 2: When using a pump sprayer or backpack sprayer, add half of the amount of water needed to the spray tank. Add the correct amount of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide based on your calculations to the half-filled spray tank and then close the spray tank and mix the product with the water until well blended. Add the remaining amount of water needed and mix again. During applications, periodically mix the Quinclorac 75 SF solution to make sure it does not settle.
  • Step 4: Spray the top and bottom of weeds until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Wait until 2 or 7 days have passed after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide before irrigating treated turfgrass with 1/2 inches of water.

Where to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be used on listed broadleaf and grass weeds in established turfgrasses growing on grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses (except collars or greens), and sod farms (except Arizona).

Do not apply this product to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.

When to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be applied when targeted weeds on labeled approved areas have already started to grow as the product has to come in contact with the weeds to kill it.

When more than 4 weeks have passed you can apply this product after seeding emergence of Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, fine fescue blends, and perennial ryegrass.

Do not apply this product to fine fescue unless it is part of a seed blend.

Safety Information

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Wait until 24 hours have passed after application before allowing children and pets to enter treated areas.

Special Considerations

It is recommended to use a surfactant when applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. The best surfactant we recommend to mix Quinclorac 75 DF with is Alligare 90 Wetting Agent.

Seems to be working on my crabgrass
For whatever reason my lawn service company didn't apply pre-emergent on a certain part of my lawn. Subsequently I had a widespread outbreak of crabgrass. They tried to control it with standard products which didn't work. I didn't realize how tough crabgrass is to kill.

I live in NY (if that matters). The Quinclorac appears to be working. It takes a little while to show its effects but my crabgrass started to brown in about a week. I've never had this problem before but I presume that it is working.

Great product if applied at the right time
Overall, Quinclorac is a great product when the plant is actively growing and isn't fully mature. By the time the end of summer/ beginning of fall hits total control will be difficult if not impossible. Spraying in late spring when you first start to see the crabgrass is the best time to apply. It will help kill some off in the fall but don't expect immediate results. One bottle goes a long way. If your lawn is totally covered in crabgrass just let the first frost kill it and start over in the spring. Seed in fall and preemergent in spring. Good luck!

Great product
Highly recommend for killing crabgrass and other weeds. Match with methylated seed oil to really get aggressive. I saw results in a matter of days, not weeks

Nukes the crabgrass
This is awesome stuff. Mixed 1 tablespoon of product with 2 tablespoons of methylated seed oil in 1 gallon of water and 3 days later I am already seeing great results on mature crabgrass. A little yellowing of surrounding turf has occurred, but per the label this is to be expected and the turf will recover. Its a hot mix with the MSO, so be careful with overspray in temperatures over 85 degrees.

I ordered this online and got great service from start to finish with frequent email updates on when my order was received, when it was shipped and when it arrived. Great job Solutions Pest and Lawn! I will be buying more products from you in the future!

Just what I needed!
I finished up a home renovation earlier this year and missed my opportunity to put down a pre-emergent. After I started to restore the neglected lawn I had it looking great until the dreaded crabgrass showed up in force. The quinclorac was just what I needed! The crabgrass got knocked down in about a week and has allowed my bermudagrass to fill in the areas! Will definitely be ordering again!

  1. Q:premixing quinclorac for later use. storing mixed solution in sprayer for later use. should this be done?
    9/21/18
A:You should not mix and store, it needs to be mixed and used.

  2. Q:How soon can you reseed after applying quinclorac?
    9/16/18
A:I am not sure. However, one thing I can tell you-- after the crab grass dies-- makes sure you completely rake it away.

  3. Q:Based on the .73 oz / 1000 sq ft, the 1 lb jar will only cover approx 22000 sq ft is this correct?
    9/13/18
A:Yes, that's how the Math works out if it was uniformly sprayed on each and every square foot at the same rate. But in practice, you spray the specific weeds you are trying to kill. In my case, when I mixed a 1/2 ounce of Quinchlorac into 1 gallon of water, the solution was so powerful that it killed the weeds AND THE GRASS. So, I would recommend 1/3 to 1/4 ounce per gallon and trying it on a small test area first before doing large areas.

  4. Q:How long after spraying before you can sow grass seed ?
    8/30/18
A:Generally, you should wait at least two weeks before seeding.

  6. Q:It says on Label that Quinclorac 75 DF can be used on Tall fescue at time off overseeding. I am overseeding in a week and want to kill crabgrass before . Is this advisable?
    8/24/18
  7. Q:I don't know what kind of grass our lawn is (was). Is it possible this could kill the good grass?
    8/22/18
A:Quinclorac (produced by Quali-Pro) is a selective post-emergent herbicide, meaning it targets specific weeds and largely brings no harmful effects to desirable grass which may surround the offending weed when applied. https://www.solutionsstores.com/knowledge-base/lawn-care/target-annoying-crabgrass-with-quinclorac
