Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, manufactured by quali-pro, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that is safe to use on various types of turf grasses to kill a variety of hard-to-control broad-leaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, even in its mature stages. Once applied, this superior systemic herbicide controls grasses and weeds from one month to 90 days.

It is a dry flowable powder that readily mixes with water to formulate a solution that is applied through sprayers to treat lawns and turfs. The solution is soaked into the foliage and transferred throughout the weed. Within a few days the weeds will begin a process called chlorosis where the weed curls up and change colors from green to white, then turn a red color and die.

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is an efficient weed killer that offers a great application and seeding flexibility, making it ideal for seeding and overseeding before or after application on labeled weeds.

Tools Needed

To apply Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, a pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer or a professional skid sprayer is needed.

How to Use

Backpack sprayer application of Quinclorac 75 DF

  • Step 1: Do not now mow 2 days before or after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. Determine how much Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide you will need to mix by first calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the areas length and width in feet and then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For spot applications, use 0.367 oz. of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide in a gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. It is not recommended to apply more than 2 pounds of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide per acre per year, which equals 0.73 ounces per 1,000 square feet per year.
  • Step 2: When using a pump sprayer or backpack sprayer, add half of the amount of water needed to the spray tank. Add the correct amount of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide based on your calculations to the half-filled spray tank and then close the spray tank and mix the product with the water until well blended. Add the remaining amount of water needed and mix again. During applications, periodically mix the Quinclorac 75 SF solution to make sure it does not settle.
  • Step 4: Spray the top and bottom of weeds until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Wait until 2 or 7 days have passed after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide before irrigating treated turfgrass with 1/2 inches of water.

Where to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be used on listed broadleaf and grass weeds in established turfgrasses growing on grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses (except collars or greens), and sod farms (except Arizona).

Do not apply this product to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.

When to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be applied when targeted weeds on labeled approved areas have already started to grow as the product has to come in contact with the weeds to kill it.

When more than 4 weeks have passed you can apply this product after seeding emergence of Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, fine fescue blends, and perennial ryegrass.

Do not apply this product to fine fescue unless it is part of a seed blend.

Safety Information

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Wait until 24 hours have passed after application before allowing children and pets to enter treated areas.

Special Considerations

It is recommended to use a surfactant when applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. The best surfactant we recommend to mix Quinclorac 75 DF with is Alligare 90 Wetting Agent.

Quinclorac 75
This quinclorac worked great. On the fescue I added tenacity, speed zone and MSO and killed everything I sprayed it on.
On zoysia I mixed it with T-zone and MSO.
The product shipped quickly and you can’t beat the pricing at solutions.

Degrades, but doesn't "kill"
Spraying Quinclorac degrades crabgrass, but it doesn't really kill it. It recovers and grows back, very quickly. It seems, in order to kill it, you have to drown the crabgrass in the stuff, which would be very, very expensive and time-consuming to do. It's probably good for saturating small patches of crabgrass, but not for large, infested areas.

Great on clover
Bought to beat back clover in buffalo grass - worked quickly & thoroughly, with no damage to the BG! Mini-pellets dissolve easily; clear directions ==> easy to mix, apply. Now I need to find something that works as well on knotweed. . .

Two Days - but its hot out there
Sprayed on Sunday. Late Tuesday afternoon, I'm already seeing it all dry up, turn dark and wither. The Bermuda will clean all that up here in a week!

Not what I expected
To be honest, it has not worked for me. It has been past 14 days, and all it did was turn my good grass yellow. I’m going to try again, and see if the second application works

Fast shipping, results not as expected…probably my fault.
Fast shipping, product seemed ok, but didn’t kill any crab grass. I might have not applied correctly though as I mixed with 24d and sprayed out of a 30 gallon pull behind sprayer. So possibly its on me that it didn’t work. The 24d sure worked on all my weeds, but crabgrass is still there. I have more product so I might mix up a small batch in a 1 gallon sprayer and spot spray the crab grass and see what happens. I used 11oz(.367 per 1k sq. Ft), mixed with about 3 gallons of water until dissolved, then added to the 30 gallon spray tank.

Crabgrass control early summer
Early summer found my pre-emergent treated Bermuda grass developing some new crabgrass. I researched problem and found that the likely hood of a positive result needed extra strong solution. I ordered the Quincloric and behold after two weeks —problem solved. Albeit my grass is a little yellow but recovering nicely the third week.

  7. Q:I have new blue grama grass that I started this spring and it is now full of weeds: purslane, pigweed, but especially a broad leaf that I cannot identify. Will quinclorac kill the blue grama grass if I spray the weeds using the correct dosage?
    6/19/21
  8. Q:what is the mixture rate?
    4/27/21
A:I am no expert, but after muddling through all of the fine print instructions, I concluded that 0.5 oz or 1 TBS per gallon is the way to go. This is for fall application. In the spring (after the crabgrass has emerged) the mixture is the same but 1 oz per gallon of Methylated Seed Oil (MSO) is recommended. I suspect that this helps the quinclorac to cling to the weeds, but again I'm no expert. However, I've made several applications--spring & fall-- and have not yet killed my buffalo grass! Good luck.

  9. Q:what is 0.37 oz converted to powder volume?
    3/20/21
A:Measuring cups are usually used for fluid oz, cup etc. if you want to convert that into a dry measurement, it is best to use a scale. For example one cup of flour weighs 4.5 oz as opposed to one cup of liquid weights 8 fluid oz.
