Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate is a pre- and post-emergent liquid herbicide that controls the toughest weeds in St. Augustinegrass or Centipedegrass.
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate, manufactured by VPG, is a liquid herbicide that uses atrazine to control various types of weeds and pre-emergent weeds in warm-seasoned turf.
Easy to use, this herbicide will quickly eliminate and suppress hard-to-control weeds like Dollarweed, Chickweed, and more during seasons of growth or dormancy in St. Augustine or Centipedegrass. Roots and foliage contact take it up and move to new growth areas to stop weeds in their tracks.
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate is perfect for residential lawns and can be applied twice a year for year-round control.
Tools Needed
This product can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a hose-end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). A general application will use 4.3 fluid ounces of Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate to 1 gallon of water for 500 square feet. The maximum rate per application on turfgrass (including lawns) is 8.6 fluid ounces of product per 1,000 square feet. A maximum of two applications per year is permitted.
- Step 2: For a 1-gallon sprayer, begin filling halfway with water and add the measured amount of Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate. Fill your sprayer the rest of the way with the remaining half of water and agitate thoroughly.
- Step 3: To spray the Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate mixture, point your nozzle in the direction you want to spray. Spray evenly to the area to be treated. Avoid rainfall or water for 3 days after application as it may decrease the effectiveness of emerged weeds. For control of pre-emergent weeds, rainfall or watering is necessary within 7 to 10 days after treatment.
Where to Use
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate may be used on healthy St. Augustinegrass and Centipedegrass.
Do not use over-rooting areas of trees, ornamentals, vegetables, or desirable plants other than the indicated turfgrasses.
When to Use
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate performs the best when applied in early spring and early fall when weed activity rises.
Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from treated areas, as accidental injury may occur on non-target plants. Additionally, Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate may be applied during the summer but is limited to spot treatments only.
Do not apply this product to turfgrass that is under heat or drought stress and reasonably free of infestations of insects, nematodes, and diseases.
Safety Information
Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Do not replant treated areas (except with listed turfgrass) within 12 months after treatment with Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer Concentrate, or injury may result.
