Flex 10-10 Insecticide
Flex 10-10 Insecticide
Flex 10-10, manufactured by Solutions Pest & Lawn, is a cost-effective 10% Permethrin and 10% PBO emulsifiable concentrate that controls many different insects, such as bed bugs, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, and roaches.
This flowable product is a synthetic pyrethroid that works by interfering with the insect's nervous system. When insects come into contact with treated surfaces, the permethrin effects the nervous system by causing muscle spasms, paralysis, and then death.
With its versatile application, Flex 10-10 can be used to spray yards and other areas for pests like mosquitoes with outdoor residential misting systems, hose sprayers, compressed air sprayers, ULV machines, or automatic mosquito misting machines. Flex 10-10 is safe to use indoors and outdoors.
Tools Needed
To treat larger areas with Flex 10-10, a backpack sprayer, a hose end sprayer, or a spray rig, ULV machine or mosquito misting system is recommended. To apply to smaller areas or as a crack-and-crevice treatment, a pump sprayer is required.
To ensure the efficacy of your spray solution, we recommend you use a surfactant. When mixed with your pesticide solution, it helps the active ingredient spread and stick more easily to applied surfaces, increasing the treated surface area.
For full control of pests like fleas, we recommend you use an insect growth regulator, or IGR. IGRs target juvenile pests, preventing them from developing into reproductive adults and busting the pests life cycle.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before applying product, measure the square footage of the area you want to treat. You can do this by multiplying the length and width together (length x width = square footage). This will determine the amount of Flex 10-10 you will need. The mixing rate is between 4 teaspoons and 6.4 fluid ounces per gallon of water, depending on what pest you are using this for. For general pest maintenance, we recommend 3.2 fluid ounces per gallon. For heavy or severe infestations, use 6.4 fluid ounces per gallon. One gallon of water will generally treat 1,000 square feet.
- Step 2: Fill your spray tank with half of the 0.5 gallon of water, add your measured amount of Flex 10-10, then pour the remaining 0.5 gallon of water in the tank. This ensures a thoroughly mixed solution. Once the solution is evenly mixed, you can add additional products like marking dyes or sufactants.
- Step 3: Apply the mixed Flex 10-10 solution to the desired area. If using with a misting or fogging machine, fine particle droplet size, such as a mist or aerosol, is preferred for maximum results. For general pest applications, spray targeted areas with low-pressure, coarse spray. Be sure to spray to the point of wet, not runoff. Spray around common entry points such as windows, doors, eaves, and where plumbing penetrates the walls. For indoor applications, you can apply product on baseboards, moldings, and floors. For bedbug treatments, lightly spray your mattress, boxspring, and bed frame joists. You will need to reapply every 10 days for a total of 30 days. Keep all people and pets off the treated area until dry.
Where to Use
Flex 10-10 can be used indoors and outdoors in residential and commercial properties. Outdoor areas include animal corrals, feed lots, gardens, parks, golf courses, and playgrounds, while indoor areas include boiler rooms, garages, flour mills, hotels, motels, hospitals, residential homes, schools, warehouses, and restaurants. However, you may not use this product in the food areas of restaurants or other food-handling establishments where food is commercially prepared or processed.
When to Use
Flex 10-10 can be used as soon as you notice an issue with bothersome insects. For outdoor applications, spray on calm days when wind speeds are low and rain is not in the immediate forecast. Once dry, this product will leave a residual that will continue to control pests for up to 30 days, depending on the weather and pest severity. Depending on your target pests life cycle, we recommend you make reapplications of Flex 10-10 every 14 to 21 days until your infestation is taken care of. For bedbugs, it can be reapplied every 10 days for a total of 30 days.
Safety Information
Flex 10-10 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment before handling or applying Flex 10-10.
Remove pets, birds, and cover fish aquaria before application. Turn off aquarium filtering systems before spraying and wait approximately 15 minutes after application before turning the filter back on.
Do not apply this pesticide when people, pets, and food are present. Do not enter or allow others to enter until vapors, mists, and aerosols have dispersed, and the area has been thoroughly ventilated.
When spraying indoors, make sure all food and utensils that may be in the area are covered or removed prior to application.
Special Considerations
This product is toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not apply directly to water. Do not apply on plants to the point of runoff.
Keep in mind this product is highly toxic to bees, so do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds while bees are actively visiting the treatment area.

Q:Two questions. What surfactant do recommend for the mixing process and can this product be sprayed directly on chickens to kill mites?5/19/23A:Unfortunately, there are not many IGRs on the market that can be used directly on chickens. Most IGRS are labeled to be used only on poultry housing. Flex 10-10 Insecticide may be used on poultry such as chickens, but apply as a fine mist above the chickens to allow it to drift over them. Do not spray to the point of runoff. To kill and prevent common mites such as Northern Fowl Mites on chickens, check out our DIY guide. https://www.solutionsstores.com/northern-fowl-mite-control

Q:At 6.4 oz per gallon, how much square footage does that 1 gallon cover for spraying lawn to treat cutworms ?11/8/22A:Since you are treating for cutworms, the rate of application is actually 3.2 fl oz per gallon of spray dilution (1 part concentrate in 39 parts water). This will treat about 1,000 sq. ft. To help increase Flex 10-10 effectiveness, make sure the lawn is not taller than 3 inches at time of application and thoroughly wet the grass a few hours before applying. Delay watering or mowing for 24 hours after treatment. For heavy infestations, repeat application after 2 weeks.
