Ant-Trax Ant Bait
Ant-Trax Ant Bait
Ant-Trax Ant Bait, manufactured by Solutions Pest & Lawn, is a effective sweet ant gel bait that is used to control multiple ant species such as Argentine ants, Pharaoh ants, little black ants and more.
This ant gel bait is made with an attractant and the insecticide imidacloprid 0.01%, which mimics nicotine and is extremely toxic to ants as it interferes with the ants' nervous system. It does not provide an instant kill. Instead, it works by taking advantage of the ants' "food exhange," leaving enough time for foraging ants to return to the colony with the poison ant bait and share it with the queen and other members of the colony. This will create a cascading effect, causing numerous ants to die within a few hours.
Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be applied as a spot or crack and crevice treatment in different areas inside and outside homes or other structures. Ant-Trax Ant Bait comes in a bait injector tube that makes applying the bait simple. A little goes a long way, so it's also economical. When tested against other leading ant gel baits, Ant-Trax was found to be the preferred ant bait due to the unique composition of its bait matrix, being unresistable to most ant species.
Tools Needed
Ant-Trax Ant Bait comes ready to use and requires no additional tools. This product includes the bait reservoir, a plunger, and an applicator tip.
You could benefit from using index cards to apply the bait on so cleanup of the bait is easier.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before you apply Ant-Trax Ant Bait, locate ant trails or find where they are coming from and then clean and sanitize all areas to be treated. Clean up and remove all secondary food and water sources, like crumbs, pet food, or water bowls. Sweep and vacuum the floors, then wipe down surfaces with warm water to remove any other food debris. For best control, ants must have no alternative food or water sources available. Avoid using cleaners or detergents, as they will deter ants away from Ant-Trax Ant Bait.
- Step 2: Unscrew the reservoir cap of the Ant-Trax syringe applicator and replace it with the applicator tip.
- Step 3: Using the plunger, push the gel through the syringe and apply Ant-Trax Ant Bait in small pea-size drops. Apply 4 drops or 0.006 oz. per square yard of treatment area. Focus on areas where you have seen foraging activity and common entry points, like along baseboards, under sinks and countertops, around water pipes, along the kitchen backsplash, near window or door crevices, or in voids where ants may be harboring. Application in a food or feed handling area should be limited to crack and crevice treatment only.
- Step 4: Once Ant-Trax Ant Bait is set, leave it alone. For the best control, do not disturb any ants feeding on the bait. Do not spray any ant trails with pesticides, and do not stomp on foraging ants. This will disrupt ant pheromones and will render your bait ineffective.
Where to Use
Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be used in and around residential, commercial, and industrial structures, including warehouses, motels, hotels, apartment buildings, schools, homes, office buildings, aircrafts, ships, and trains. This product may also be used in food or feed handling establishments, but you may not apply this product on surfaces where food or feed is handled or prepared.
Do not apply this product where insecticides have recently been sprayed, and apply only in areas that are not easily accessible to children or pets.
When to Use
Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be used as often as needed when ant activity has been spotted. Since this product contains attractants, it is most effective to treat active infestations and should not be used for preventative control.
Ant-Trax Ant Bait placements are effective until dry, and it is recommended to check your placements every 2 weeks to replenish or to be cleaned if dry.
Safety Information
Ant-Trax Ant Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
Special Considerations
Using repellent insecticides in conjunction with Ant-Trax Ant Bait will make the bait less appealing, causing the ants to avoid it, making it less effective. The ants must also be left alone in order to carry the bait back to their colony to eliminate the others.
When applying bait gel insecticides, it is often more effective to apply several pea-size drop applications rather than fewer large-size drop applications. Numerous smaller bait placements provide more opportunities for ants to feed on the bait than fewer large placements.

Q:I caught my dog eating some of the Ant-Trax Ant Bait? Will they be okay?9/24/20A:The active ingredient is imidacloprid, which is also used orally as a flea preventative. It depends on your dogs weight and age and the amount they ate, but more than likely they should be fine. I would keep an eye on your dog and call the vet if they start acting uncharacteristically.
