Sluggo Plus
Sluggo Plus
Sluggo Plus is an easy to use pellet bait that effectively kills and controls more garden insects like slugs, snails, and pillbugs in gardens and greenhouses.
Sluggo Plus, manufactured by Monterey, is an effective iron phosphate and spinosad bait that protects residential vegetables, flowers, and trees from prolific garden pests.
This insect, slug, and snail pellet bait offers an organic and effective method of pest control for environmentally conscious home owners. Lasts up to 4 weeks after application to continue killing pests like sowbugs and pillbugs then breaks down into an organic fertilizer.
Sluggo Plus is a certified organic and environmentally safe insecticide that uses two different active ingredients to bait and eliminate pests without fear of plant damage.
Tools Needed
Sluggo plus can be applied with either a hand spreader, power-operated spreader, or chemical use teaspoon.
Do not use food utensils such as tablespoons, cups, etc. for food purposes after pesticide use.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Sluggo Plus to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage. Apply 0.5 to 1 lb. of Sluggo Plus per 1,000 sq. ft. or 0.5 to 1 teaspoon of product per square yard. Do not apply more than 3 times in any 30 day period.
- Step 2: Adjust your spreader to the proper settings then load the proper amount of Sluggo Plus into your spreader
- Step 3: If the ground is dry, wet it before applying Sluggo Plus. The product works best when soil is moist but with little or no standing water. Scatter the product on the soil around or near the plants to be protected. Do not place in piles. Scatter the bait around the perimeter of the area to provide a protective “barrier” for pests entering the area. For seedlings, spread the bait around the base of the stem. For trees or shrubs, spread the bait around the base of the tree. For small plots, treat around the base of the plants to be protected. In greenhouses, scatter the bait in the pots of plants being damaged or around pots on greenhouse benches.
- Step 4: Re-apply after heavy rain or watering.
Where to Use
Sluggo Plus can be applied on the soil around residential vegetables, fruit Trees, citrus, berries, ornamentals, shrubs, flowers, trees, lawns, gardens and in greenhouses (non-commercial).
When to Use

Q:I have cutworms larvae in my planting trough. Should I sprinkle Sluggo on top of the soil or dig it into the ground. Currently we do not have a crop in trough?9/23/22A:Sprinkle it on top. But it will deteriorate with rain or watering so you need to reapply if either occurs. Otherwise, it works well.
