Patch Pro Fungicide
Patch Pro Fungicide
Patch Pro Fungicide, manufactured by Solutions Pest and Lawn, is a systemic fungicide that controls harmful fungi and diseases on grasses and ornamental plants.
This emulsifiable concentrate absorbs through the leafy tissue of the infected plant and moves through the plant's vascular system to eliminate diseases, such as powdery mildew, blight, and rust.
Patch Pro Fungicide is also a great product to use for preventative control of a broad-spectrum of fungi and other diseases.
Tools Needed
To use Patch Pro Fungicide you will need either a hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or handheld pump sprayer. To cover acres of treatment area, a spray rig may be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Calculate your treatment areas square footage by multiplying the areas length by its width. You will use this to figure out how much product you need to apply. The rate at which you will apply Patch Pro Fungicide depends on the disease pathogen you are targeting. Depending on the disease you are treating, Patch Pro Fungicide should be mixed at a rate between 0.5 to 4.0 whole fluid ounces per 1 gallon of finished solution for every 1,000 sq. ft. of treatment area. Be sure to double check the products label for the correct application rate to treat the disease or fungus you are targeting. Do not apply more than 16 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. per calendar year nor apply more than 5.4 gallons of product per acre per calendar year.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the required amount of water, then use the bottles tip-n-pour feature to measure the correct amount of product you will need. Add Patch Pro Fungicide in, and agitate the mixture until the product is fully dispersed, then add the remaining amount of water. Close and shake once more to ensure an even distribution of product. Once the solution is fully mixed, you can add additional products like marking dyes or surfactants.
- Step 3: Apply the Patch Pro Fungicide solution to the target area, either to treat active lawn diseases in turf or ornamentals of for preventative disease control. For the best results, use a fan-spray setting to ensure the blades and leaves are evenly coated. To treat for soil-borne diseases, you may water in the product after application. Reapplication may be required to control severe cases of disease development. Reapply at 7 to 14 day intervals two or more times to achieve complete control of the target fungus or disease.
Where to Use
Patch Pro Fungicide is labeled to be used to control and prevent disease and fungal development in warm-season and cool-season turfgrasses as well as in dichondra. Bermudagrass can be sensitive to this product, so limit applications to 4 fluid ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. every 30 days on any variety of bermudagrass.
This product may also be used in nurseries and landscape plantings, it can be used to control diseases in various trees, including nonbearing fruit and nut trees, and it can be used on woody and herbaceous ornamental plants.
Do not apply this product to African violets, begonias, Boston fern, or Geraniums.
When to Use
Patch Pro Fungicide can be used as soon as fungi and disease symptoms are noticed for curative control. When used to prevent diseases, Patch Pro Fungicide has a 30 day residual effect and can be used monthly to stop symptoms from occurring. Apply Patch Pro Fungicide on calm days when no rainfall is in the immediate forecast to allow the product to absorb into the leaf tissue.
In Florida, do not apply Patch Pro Fungicide to bermudagrass golf course greens when temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Safety Information
Patch Pro Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets into treatment areas until the product has dried completely.
Do not graze animals on treated areas. Do not feed clippings from treated areas to livestock or poultry.
Special Considerations
To help avoid overapplication in turfgrass, we recommend you use a marking dye like Vision Blue or Vision Pro Max. These product are temporary colorants used to indicate where you have already sprayed. When mixed into your spray solution, your application will leave treated areas a deep blue color, reminding you where you have already sprayed so you know not to apply there again.
If you are using Patch Pro Fungicide to treat foliar diseases, we recommend you use a surfactant like Alligare 90 Surfactant Wetting Agent. When mixed with your pesticide solution, it helps the active ingredient spread and stick more easily to blade and leaf surfaces, increasing the treated surface area.

Reading the pamphlet was difficult due to the tiny print. Also, reading the process for brown patch, there is no mention of reducing or eliminating brown patch, only applying it in Spring. Also, directions state the amount to use per square feet, but there is no mention of the amount of water to use with the stated amount of product.
I'm hoping the second application works, but I don't have a great expectation. If it works, I'll be happy to do another rating, but the instructions for use (prevention vs cure, amount of water to use for the recommended amount of product, etc.) need to be improved.
