  2. Good company, good product

Sonora killed most of the invasive weeds on our farm without harming any of our young evergreens. Wish it could help with the St. Johnswort but it’s a tough weed and wasn’t affected at all, as reported on the label. Best of all, Solutions Pest & Lawn was fairly priced and shipped the 10 gallons we ordered quickly and affordably. I will definitely check them out the next time noxious invasive become a problem, which we’re required by law to address.

  4. Great on knapweed

This is the first Herbicide to put a dent in our knapweed. Killed the knapweed and yarrow and left the grass alone. Does seem like the price doubled from last year, but maybe I’m remembering wrong.

  5. Clopyrid

We have just started using Clopyrid on our property to kill Kudzu on a steep slope. We have used it twice and see some die off of the leaves / vines. We will continue to use it to see how often to get rid of it completely. It is very established Kudzu so it may take awhile. I do feel some relief that Clopyrid is legume - specific because I don't want to hurt any other plants around it in our woods. I had been hand digging out crowns but it is very hard work (and not safe on steep slopes) and not all of them can be accessed so I'm hoping this is our answer. We normally are very holistic when it comes to the environment but when I think about the choice of losing our property to Kudzu as opposed to using an herbicide sparingly and carefully, I think it's more important at this point to keep the Kudzu from ruining everything.

  6. Kudzu be gone!
    Rating
    100%
I needed a herbicide that I could spray on Kudzu that was actively growing up, on and over other trees. Most of the hardwoods were unaffected but it will kill Black Locust. If something makes a pod and belongs in the pea family, this herbicide will kill it. It takes about 2 weeks before you see the kudzu give up the ghost. What a feast for the eyes to see the small hardwoods unaffected. I used a ionic surfactant and sprayed 1 oz per gallon in a backpack sprayer. I think you could get away with less but I wasn't taking any chances. I wore protective clothing and glasses - highly recommended - to keep spray drift out of your eyes and off of your skin.
It said to only use this from June through August. It's not as effective when the kudzu isn't actively growing. For kudzu going into dormancy, it's best to follow the shoots to the mother vine, cut or slash the root ball and treat the wounds with Triclopyr diluted 50% with ionic surfactant and no water. This two pronged approach gives me hope for eradicating kudzu on 4 acres in the near future! I will be sizing up to one gallon from 32 oz in 2019! Great service and value plus fast shipping from Solution Stores as always.

I have been fighting kudzu on 3 acres and finally tackled it with clopyralid. I used 4 oz Kudzu killer, 4 oz dish soap and 4 gallons water in my back pack sprayer and I now have a clear field. BOOM

Sprayed last week and it appears the vetch I was tackling is browning up nicely. The adjacent grass and evergreens appear to be unharmed.
