Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a powerful long-lasting herbicide tool for rangeland and pasture brush control in outdoor residential and commercial areas. Remedy is used by land managers and those in agricultural settings to kill more than 35 different type of brush, weeds, and invasive trees.

While this low odor product works well on its own, Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide also mixes well with other herbicides. So where mixed brush and broadleaf weeds dominate, consider tank-mixing Remedy Ultra with other popular weed killers for broader-spectrum control and residual broadleaf weed control.

If weeds, trees and brush are interfering with operations, Remedy Ultra Herbicide can address the situation with its powerful active ingredient triclopyr 60.45%.

Tools Needed

Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide is to be diluted in a sprayer tank before use. The product can be mixed with surfactants, drift control agents, or oil for maximum results depending on the areas being treated. For smaller applications, a pump sprayer or backpack sprayer will do. For larger applications, use a spray rig.

Do not apply with a mistblower.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide you will need to mix by first calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, measure and multiply the area length and width then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). For spot treatments, Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide should be mixed at a 1 to 1.5% solution in water (1 to 1 1/2 gallons of product in 100 gallons total spray mixture). For broadcast applications, apply 1 to 2 pints of product per 10 gallons of water per acre for small weed control or up to 1 1/2 quarts of product per 10 gallons of water per acre for deep-rooted perennial and susceptible woody species control.
  • Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half of the amount of water required. Then add in Remedy at the appropriate rate based on your calculations for the weed you are trying to treat. Add in a selected surfactant as suggested by the label and agitate the sprayer to make sure the solution is mixed well.
  • Step 3: Spray the application to targeted areas where weeds are growing, preferably on a fan spray setting for uniform coverage. If trying to control an invasive tree, you will need an oil base carrier and will need to perform a cut-stump treatment. Apply enough spray to wet the lower 12 to 15 inches of the trunk, including the root collar. Spray a coating like you would spray paint.

Where to Use

Remedy Ultra Herbicide can be used on rangeland, permanent grass pastures, and conservation reserve program (CRP) acres (including fence rows and non-irrigation ditch banks within these areas).

Do not apply this product directly to, or otherwise permit it to come into direct contact with, cotton, grapes, peanuts, soybeans, tobacco, vegetable crops, flowers, citrus, or other desirable broadleaf plants.

When to Use

For best results, apply Remedy Ultra Herbicide when plants are actively growing, which typically occurs early in the summer. Application in late summer or in periods of dry weather when plants are not actively growing may result in unsatisfactory control.

Do not reseed treated areas for a minimum of three weeks after treatment.

Safety Information

Remedy Ultra Herbicide is safe to use around children, pets, and livestock when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

During the season of application, withdraw livestock from grazing treated grass at least 3 days before slaughter. Do not harvest hay for 14 days after application.

Do not enter or allow others to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Low-volume basal and cut-stump applications require an oil-based carrier. Be sure pumps and hoses are resistant to oil-based carriers. Wands and spray tips also should be chemical-resistant. Adjustable tips give you more control when making individual plant treatments and there should be a cut-off at the tip to avoid wasting product (such as a strainer and check ball valve or low volume wand).

Apply no more than 1/2 gallon (2 lb ae) of product per acre per growing season on rangeland, permanent grass pastures, and conservation reserve program acres, including fence rows and non-irrigation ditch banks within these areas, or any area where grazing or haying is allowed.

Remedy Ultra Triclopyr Herbicide may be used at rates up to 8 quarts (8 lb ae) per acre per year on non-grazed portions of conservation reserve program acres, including fence rows and non-irrigation ditch banks. Portions of grazed areas that intersect treated rangeland, permanent grass pastures, and conservation reserve program acres may be treated at up to 8 lb ae per acre if the area to be treated on the day of application comprises no more than 10% of the total grazable area.

Good product. Goo
Remedy Ultra Has very confusing mixing instructions!! They need to have a very simple mixing instruction ratio. X/A = Product/Water. Good product. I would recommend the product. Ok I finally got the sprayer equipment from our local Co-op. The Remedy Ultra label directions are very vague!! I was unsure of the water to product ratio. I called yous and a rep told me 100gal water/1quart product. I used the reps recommended ratio. I just checked the field today and the product worked good. I’m happy to inform you the Remedy Ultra killed the very bad Rosa Castillo here in Canjilon, NM. Thanks. The mixing ratio instruction need to be at a simple 7th grade level so it isn’t so so vague.

Remedy is great for brush control
I have used Triclopyr, whcih has the same active ingredient, but Triclopyr is much cheaper. If mixed with 2-4D you can get the same results, but at a much better price (at least at ePestSolutions). Customer service is great and shipping is prompt.

  4. Q:My concentrated (new) remedy ultra has separated into 2 phases. What is the best way to redissolve the solid matter? Is diesel better than water?
    3/14/23
A:The only time I’ve ever seen Remedy separate is when it has frozen. I’ve had this happen to me. I just shook it up vigorously in its container a few times and it was fine. As for water or diesel, it dilutes well in both. I use water to spray foliage and diesel for Basel bark spray
