Termite Bait Will Kill the Colony

Bug Lady posted this on Oct 8, 2016

Rather than drenching the soil with chemicals, termite bait is a different concept.
Chemical drenching seeks to separate the termites from the food source, namely yor
house. On the other hand, termites are offered different food sources called baits.
Termites who feed on the bait are not killed right away so they have time to call their
other termite friends to take part in the new found buffet.

Termite Buffet Party
Termites are social creatures and they will all want to join in the fun. By using bait, you
will slowly infect the entire termite colony, not just those who are unfortunate enough
to chew through any chemical. While barrier chemical treatments work to exclude the
termites in getting to your home, bait is total colony annihilation. If the bait is successful,
it will reduce the risk that the same colony of termites will reinvest your home in later
years.

You will need to locate where the termites are likely to find the bait and place it in those
areas. You can place them above the ground and in-ground as well. In-ground stations
are used primarily for subterranean termites which are exploring the soil for new
resources. Once they find the bait, it will be seen as a new food source for the colony.
The great thing about baits is that they are environmentally friendly and do not affect
other animals as they use small amounts of pesticide within each bait station.

Obtain Your Termite Bait Online

You can obtain the same type of bait and bait stations as the pest control professional’s
use. Just go online to your favorite DIY pest control supplier for all your termite bait
needs. You will need to read the label thoroughly and do a little detective work in
locating the termites in questions; however, you will save yourself a lot of money with
which you can use towards a much needed vacation.
