Customer Question:

Hi.  I did a lawn renovation last fall.  I used straw as a top dressing so the seed wouldn't wash away on a hill.  I think i got this narrowed down to annual rye, wheat, or quack.  Thanks for any help.

Hi Andy,

Appears to be Ryegrass. There are few options.

1. You can try Dismiss South herbicide at the highest rate.

2. Spray Glyphosate over turf (assuming this is Bermuda) while dormant. There may be some burn to the Bermuda, but it should bounce back rather quickly during the Spring. With that said, this option maybe too late this year depending on your location.

Either of these products can be purchased on our website at solutionsstores.com.

Sometimes it can be tough trying to identify a problem pest or weed on your own. They may be too small or so unique that you can't make it out. If you send us a picture of your problem pest or weed to identification@solutionsstores.com, we will reply back to you with the proper identification of your issue and give you suggestions and recommendations on the best method of control. Keep this in mind next time you encounter an issue, we're glad to help.
