How to use your Advion ant bait stations/arenas

Bug Lady posted this on Aug 4, 2016

Advion Ant Bait Stations contain indoxocarb and a patented formulation that kills Pharaoh ants and other common household ants:

Including Carpenter Ants, Argentine Ants, Crazy Ants, Pavement Ants, Cornfield ants, Odorous house ants, acrobat ants and thief ants.

Ant Bait Arenas in and around structures will kill foraging ants, including fire ants and harvester ants, but for complete control of outdoor nests of fire ants or harvester ants, use a broadcast or direct mound treatment product.

Space sprays or other residual materials should not be applied directly to or near the bait arenas. Application of these materials can cause ants to behave abnormally and therefore reduce the potential of feeding on the bait material inside the station. Foraging ants must be able to feed on the bait and return to the colony

How to use:

  • Simply place the bait stations indoors or outdoor immediately in the ants trails or close to areas where ants are numerous. Nests are usually located in dark, humid and warm areas close to a water source and also food source.
  • For the best effect but you bait stations out adjacent to the structure, near electrical outlets, wall voids, waste baskets, garbage cans and sinks.
  • Advion Ant Bait Arena can also be placed in cabinets, next to dishes, near sensitive equipment or anywhere you ant problem is occurring.

Indoor use: For normal infestations, you should use 3 Advion Ant Bait Arena in a average size room. If you have a very heavy infestation then best to use additional stations in the areas where you are seeing the infestations.

If after 2 weeks the problem is still persisting then, place new bait stations out. Inspect the ADVION® ant bait arenas periodically and replace as needed or every 2 to 3 months.

Outdoor use: Bait stations should be placed adjacent to the structure near ant activity or anywhere ants may gain access to the structure. Application sites include the air conditioner units, electrical conduits, pipe chases, concrete slabs, ant mounds and anywhere you are seeing ant activity.

The ant stations can be stuck on a vertical surface by peeling off the protective strip to expose the adhesive.

  • Do not spray the bait stations, do not clean the area surrounding the stations, which can cause an aversion to the bait and prevent any ants from coming to the stations.
  • You can see, sometimes increased ant activity near the bait stations immediately after placement for short periods but usually you will see less activity within three to four days.
  • Do not interfere with ants for best results, you need the ants to ingest the bait and then take back to the colony to share with the queen.
  • These are recommendations, you should always read and follow manufacturer labels and instruction and remember we are here to help.
