Imidacloprid 2F is an insecticide manufactured by Quali-Pro, a leading brand for turf and lawn care. This insecticide spray works systemically and moves through the foliage to the roots of treated vegetation so that targeted insects like grubs that feed on the plants will die.

Imidacloprid 2F can be applied with various spray equipment to treat small residential areas or large turfs. Imidacloprid 2F provides fast and continuous control against insects such as European crane flies, aphids, and more.

Tools Needed

To apply Imidacloprid 2F, a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, hose end sprayer or professional skid sprayer is needed. When applying to small lawn areas, we recommend using the handheld pump sprayer. We recommend using a hose end sprayer for broadcast applications on residential lawns.

Applying Imidacloprid 2F

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Imidacloprid 2F you need by calculating the square footage of the area you wish to treat. To do this, you will need to measure and multiply length times the width of the area (length x width = square footage). For general purpose turf applications, you can apply Imidacloprid 2F at a rate of 0.46 to 0.6 fl. oz. in a gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. So for example, if you calculated a 3,000 sq. ft. area for treatment you would need to mix 1.38 to 1.8 fl. oz. of Imidacloprid 2F in 3 gallons of water.
  • Step 2: In a sprayer of your choice, begin filling the spray tank with 1/2 gallon of water. Shake the concentrate will before adding the correct amount of Imidacloprid 2F to the spray tank. Fill the spray tank the rest of the way and then agitate the sprayer. When the product is well-mixed, you are ready to spray.
  • Step 3: Spray the Imidacloprid 2F solution evenly on areas where treatment is needed. Reapply when needed. Use a fan nozzle spray setting for uniform coverage.

Where to Use

Imidacloprid 2F is ideal for turfs and ornamental lawns on residential and commercial areas. It can be applied to business and office properties, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields and sod farms.

When to Use

Use Imidacloprid 2F when you have insect pests infesting your turf and ornamentals. Most favorable control will be achieved when applications are made prior to egg hatch of the target pests. Apply on calm days when wind speed are low to minimize the risk of drift. Do not apply when bees and other pollinators are active as the active ingredient is systemic and toxic to beneficial insects.

Safety Information

Imidacloprid 2F is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying Imidacloprid 2F.

Special Considerations

Imidacloprid 2F can be applied in a variety of ways for broad spectrum control, but you must not exceed 1.6 pints (0.4 lbs of active ingredient) per acre per year. The systemic nature of this product makes for effective control, but it can harm bees. Imidacloprid 2F cannot contact plants in bloom if bees are in or around the treatment area.
