But before you attack the enemy, you will have to understand them. Here’s a little information about your flying enemies!

About Flies

Flies are insects that evolved into an advanced mechanosensory organisms and have ability of performing surreal aerodynamic movements.  These flies have a mobile head and a pair of compound eyes, which provides them with optimum vision. They position of their wings provides them with incredible maneuverability; they also have pads on their feet which enable them to land and cling on different surfaces.  Flies lay eggs in large quantities and these eggs are laid on the larval food source.

Even though flies are extremely annoying and simply unpleasant they still serve a purpose as they are one of the most effective pollinators out there, they are also used in debridement to clean different types of wounds. But that does not mean you should allow them to enter your home and make your life hell! To help you get rid of flies present in your home or offices, given below are tested steps which are designed to help everyone out there fight their two winged enemies effectively.

Methods to get rid of flies permanently

Given below are different methods that are designed to help everyone effectively rid their homes or offices from flies.

  1. Soda bottle trap

The soda bottle trap is one of the most creative ways you can fight flies in your home or office, simply clean an empty plastic bottle. Now carefully cut out the top third of the bottle and then pour sweet liquid in the bottom third of the bottle.  Once you have poured the liquid, turn the bottle upside down to create a cone shape and place the bottle where flies are most visible. These flies will find their way inside but will have no way to get out! After you trap the flies we would recommend setting them free outside, but that’s just us. If you have a really bad infestation then try using multiple soda bottles in order to get all of those pesky flies.

  1. The fruit and cone trap

Another innovative way to get those flies out of your life for good is the notorious fruit and cone trap.  For this trap you will require a container, sheet of paper and bait. Once you have gotten hold of the required ingredients simply set the bait by putting a piece of fruit inside the container and then add vinegar to the fruit. Use the sheet of paper to create a cone shape and then place the cone inside the container, ensure that there is no room at between the cone and the container.

We would recommend placing this container in your kitchen or other areas of your home; you will have to leave the trap overnight as it will take time for the flies to get attracted to the scent of vinegar. In the morning if you check the container there should be multiple flies stuck inside, simply pour luke warm water to drown them. Wash the container and reuse to make sure that there is no fly left in your home or office.

  1. Vinegar and dish soap fly trap

This is the simplest yet effective ways to get rid of flies in your home or offices, simply get hold of a shallow dish bowl, an inch of vinegar and a tablespoon of sugar. Take the shallow dish bowl and pour an inch of vinegar and mix it with a tablespoon of sugar. Once you have mixed the sugar simply add some fruit scented dish soap to the mixture, wrap the opening with plastic wrap and poke a few holes in order to make sure that the flies catch the scent of the dish soap.

  1. The sugar death trap

If you really want to get creative with the ways you fight the flies present in your home, then you should consider the sugar death trap.  All you have to do is mix four ounces of raw sugar with two ounces of ground pepper and then add a pint of milk to the mixture. Pour the mixture on a saucepan and let it simmer for approximately ten minutes, once the mixture is ready then pour it into a shallow dish. Simply place this concoction in a shallow bowl and put it in the area where there are a lot flies present.

Preventing a fly infestation

Preventing a fly infestation is not an easy task but there are certain steps you can take in order to reduce the chances of flies thriving in your home or office.
