Celero Herbicide by Valent Biosciences is a selective post-emergent herbicide for the control of nutsedge and other weeds within established turfgrasses. Celero Herbicide is absorbed by plant foliage and roots to target unwanted vegetation.

Target Pests

Celero Herbicide is used for the control of nutsedge and broadleaf weeds in established turfgrasses such as purple nutsedge yellow nutsedge anual sedge cylindric sedge burclover burweed chickweed geranium henbit purslane and other listed weeds.

For Use In

Celero Herbicide is for use in established turfgrasses in apartment complexes golf courses sod farms roadsides sports fields campgrounds office complexes parks parking areas recreational sites schools residential lawns and commercial areas.


For a broadcast application of Celero Herbicide apply at a rate of 8 to 14 ouncesplus a non-ionic surfactant per acre as a post-emergent treatment.

If applied at 8 ounces a second application may be made at 21 day after the initial treatment. For a spot treament of Celero Herbicide mix at a rate of 0.25 to 0.33 ounces in 1 to 2 gallons of water to treat 1,000 square feet adding in 2 teaspoons of non-ionic surfactant.

Do not apply to golf course putting greens or within 4 hours of expected rain.

Coverage Area

If used at the maximum rate per acre per application of Celero Herbicide will treat an estimated 1 acre per application. Each finished gallon as a broadcast application will treat approximately 1,000 square feet.

Time to Kill

Celero Herbicide will stop weeds from growing just 7 to 14 days and will eliminate the unwanted vegetation in just 21 to 28 days.

Can Celero Herbacide be used by a home owner in a residential setting. Like a DYI. If so, are there smaller premixed options available? I live in the SLC, UT area. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can be used by a homeowner. Unfortunately, this is the smallest size available.
