Stored product pest are insects that usually infest food products ranging from whole grains and nuts housed in storage facilities to packaged foods like corn meal, flour, spices and pet foods. Some of these pest are even found in dried flower arrangements and containers of potpourri. Infestations can occur in the home because infested products were brought into the home, or infestations can originate in the home as a result of insects that have flown in. Either way, once they are in the home, they create a health hazard that must be dealt with.
