Pramitol 25E Herbicide
Pramitol 25E Herbicide
Pramitol 25E Herbicide, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is a non-selective bare ground herbicide that uses the active ingredient prometon to kill various types of weeds through foliar and root contact.
This product is ideal to use on construction sites, along roadways, industrial sites and other areas where complete elimination of vegetation is needed. Pramitol 25E Herbicide is sprayed on the ground around targeted weeds so it can be absorbed in the soil to the roots.
Pramitol 25E Herbicide is a soil sterilant preventing plants and weeds from growing for up to 1 year on treated areas.
Tools Needed
To make applications with Pramitol 25E Weed Killer, a pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer or skid sprayer is needed. We recommend using a backpack sprayer or pump sprayer for spot treatments and small areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Pramitol 25E Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Spot treatments in small areas should be done at a rate of 1/2 - 7/8 pt. of Pramitol 25E in 1 gallon of water to cover 500 square feet. If you have a 1,500 square foot area to be treated, you would need at least 1.5 pts. of Pramitol mixed with 3 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Add half of the required amount of water to the spray tank of the application equipment you are using and then add the correct amount of Pramitol 25E. Add the rest of the required amount of water and mix well.
- Step 3: Apply the Pramitol 25E Herbicide mixture to the target areas, preferably on a fan spray nozzle setting. Make applications close to the ground. Pramitol 25E works better when it reaches the roots, even though some results occur from it touching the foliage.
- Step 4: When the application is complete, you must water the area to activate the product. Pramitol 25E Herbicide will not become active in killing weeds on treated areas until the ground is watered right after making applications with at least 1/4" inches of water or if applications of the product are made right before rainfall.
Where to Use
Pramitol 25E Herbicide is formulated for use on industrial sites and non-crop land areas. It can be applied under asphalt and in areas where asphalt will be poured. It is ideal for construction sites, along fence lines, around farm buildings, and lumberyards. It is only to be used on land where total control of vegetation is needed.
Do not apply this product in a residential setting.
When to Use
Pramitol 25E Herbicide can be applied before or up to 3 months after targeted weeds appear. Make sure weeds are not taller than 4 inches and that weather conditions are right before making an application. For best results we recommend making applications before rainfall, to ensure the solutions seeps in the ground to reach the root systems of the unwanted vegetation.
In arid areas where deep-rooted perennials are a problem, best results can be obtained by making the application from midsummer through late fall or prior to the rainy season.
Pramitol 25E Herbicide can be applied before asphalt is poured on right of ways. Do not apply when wind speed is up to 10 miles per hour. When applying to areas where perennials with deep roots are growing, for maximum results, make applications starting from mid-summer through late fall or right before the rainy season begins.
Safety Information
Pramitol 25E Herbicide is safe to use around pets and children when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not enter or allow entry until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Pramitol 25E Herbicide is not recommended for use in residential settings. Do not make more than 1 application a year when applying Pramitol 25E Weed Killer to industrial sites. This does not include making applications under solid or block paving.
Although Pramitol 25E has considerable activity through foliar contact, much of its activity is through roots; therefore, its effectiveness is dependent on rainfall to move it into the root zone. Very dry soil conditions and lack of sufficient rainfall may result in poor control. This product will not provide herbicidal action in the treated area unless application is immediately followed by watering the area with at least 1/4" of water or application of the product just prior to a rain event sufficient to penetrate to the root system of the target vegetation.

Q:I spent over a $1000.00 on 10 - 50 lb bags of Pramitol to kill the grass and weeds in our Church cemetery in March thinking this would take care of the weeds and I would not have to use Round Up this summer. I was wrong. I am going to have to use Round Up for the THIRD time before the end of August. Big disappointment. Shouldn't it had worked better?8/17/22A:There could of been a variety of reasons weeds are still appearing, but take into consideration the following factors. Although Pramitol 25E has considerable activity through foliar contact, much of its activity is through roots; therefore, its effectiveness is dependent on rainfall to move it into the root zone. Very dry soil conditions and lack of sufficient rainfall may result in poor weed control. This product will not provide herbicidal action in the treated area unless application is immediately followed by watering the area with at least ¼” of water or application of the product just prior to a rain event sufficient to penetrate to the root system of the target vegetation. Weeds greater than 4 inches must be mowed, removed, or hoed into the soil prior to application. For best results, apply Pramitol 25E before weeds emerge or when weeds are young and actively growing. In arid areas where deep-rooted perennials are a problem, best results can be obtained by making the application from midsummer through late fall or prior to the rainy season.
